Gritt is backed by Obvious Ventures, Union Square Ventures, First Round Capital, Climactic, Congruent Ventures, and other leading firms.\nRole: Robotics Testing Technician\nLocation: South San Francisco (in-person)\nAbout the role\nWe are looking for a Robotics Test Technician to run the tests that prove our robots are ready, across both the software and the physical machine. You will be hands-on during robot bring-up, executing test procedures, collecting data, and flagging anything that looks off. You will work alongside our engineers and learn how software and hardware fit together on a real system.\nYou will spend real time outdoors - most of our testing happens in the yard at our HQ. The work is hands-on, and your attention to detail directly affects whether a heavy robot can be trusted to operate autonomously and safely around the people testing it.\nWhat you’ll get to work on\nExecute test procedures during robot bring-up, following written test plans and acceptance criteria.\n\nRun system test campaigns on heavy robots in our yard, across real weather, lighting, dust, and temperature.\n\nRecord test results accurately and consistently, including pass/fail outcomes, measurements, logs, and observations.\n\nSet up, operate, and maintain mechanical and electrical test fixtures and instrumentation.\n\nRun regression and characterization tests on prototypes and production hardware, including pick-and-place accuracy and cycle time checks.\n\nRun tests across the panel SKUs and site conditions the robot must handle in production.\n\nFlag failures and unexpected behavior quickly, with clear notes and data.\n\nFollow safety procedures for testing large autonomous machines around people and equipment.\n\nKeep test logs, data, and reports organized so results are traceable back to requirements.\n\nWhat we look for\n1-2 years of experience in test, QA, validation, or a similar hands-on technical role, ideally with robotics, autonomous systems, automotive, or other complex physical systems.\n\nB.S. degree in robotics, MechE, EE, CS, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience).\n\nWorking knowledge of Python for running scripts, pulling logs, and basic data analysis.\n\nComfortable in a Linux terminal\n\nExposure to ROS2 or similar robotics frameworks is a plus.\n\nComfortable assembling or adjusting test fixtures and instrumentation.\n\nYou follow test procedures precisely, document what you see, and speak up when something doesn’t look right.\n\nYou are comfortable working hands-on with heavy machinery outdoors and take procedure seriously.\n\nAble to work well with light supervision.\n\nLegally authorized to work in
