This role drives daily operations, leads teams, ensures strong customer experiences, and maintains high standards across store routines. The ASM acts as a hands-on operator and shift leader, developing people, solving problems, and protecting the business. This role reports to the Store Manager.\nResponsibilities Include:\nOperational Leadership\nOversee daily store execution across all departments\nMaintain store conditions, cleanliness, and merchandising standards\nEnsure accurate receiving, stock flow, inventory levels, and backroom organization\nSupport seasonal transitions, floor resets, and display execution\nUphold all company procedures and ensuring reliable coverage across shifts\nSupport store financial goals, sales, labor, shrink and margin targets\nAddress issues quickly to minimize customer or operational impact\nPeople Leadership and Team Development\nCoach associates and department leads through clear expectations and feedback\nResponsible for recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training and performance management of talent\nAddress employee concerns promptly and appropriately\nMaintain a respectful, accountable, high-energy work environment\nModel leadership behaviors that reinforce store culture and service standards\nSupport performance reviews and contributing to development plans\nCustomer Experience \nProvide active floor leadership during peak hours\nCoach and reinforce service expectations\nResolve customer concerns with good judgment and urgency\nEnsure front-end operations deliver speed, accuracy, and friendly service; oversee front end cash control processes\nSupport programs that strengthen customer trust and store reputation\nMerchandising & Inventory Execution \nOwn execution in the grocery department and assigned departments\nMonitor ordering, product flow, and rotation to protect freshness and reduce shrink\nEnsure accurate inventory counts, stock levels, and storage practices\nSupport execution of planograms, displays, and promotional sets\nPartner with department leads to maintain in-stock conditions and presentation standards\nManage back stock visibility so associates know what is available\nSafety, Compliance & Loss Prevention \nLead safety routines, training, and execution of OSHA and company standards\nEnsuring OSHA, safety, and food-handling standards are consistently followed\nEnsure equipment is used safely and associates are properly trained\nSupport loss prevention programs and enforce store security procedures\nInvestigate incidents and document them accurately and promptly\nEnsure proper rotation, storage, and handling of product \nAdministrative Support\nSupport P&L management, with specific focus on labor.\nLead and execute weekly labor planning and daily staffing adjustments\nEnsure accuracy of scheduling, timekeeping records, and payroll processes\nComplete required reports and administrative tasks, including new hire paperwork and reporting, with timeliness and accuracy\nMaintain confidentiality related to personnel and company information\nSupport communication flow between departments, the Store Manager, and corporate teams\nAbout the Pay:\nBase Salary Range: $70,000-85,000 Annually\nAnnual Bonus Program\nEquity\n401(k) Profit Sharing\nMedical, Dental, Vision & More!\nFinal compensation will be determined based upon experience and skills and may vary based on location.\nAbout You:\n5-7 years of retail and grocery experience, with two years in a Manager or Assistant Manager position\nExperience leading and managing a P&L required\nProven skills in recruiting, hiring, training, and coaching\nHave a keen awareness of all current retail safety and OSHA guidelines\nKnowledge and experience with the following equipment/procedures: hand jack, hand truck, trash compactor, bailer, forklift, cutter, proper lifting techniques, proper scanning techniques\nAbility to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists\nAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals\nThorough understanding of perishable department operations and merchandising\nAble to respond to common inquiries or complaints from employees, managers, and any outside vendor\nGood organizational skills, with a full understanding of operation systems and bookkeeping procedures\nGood oral and written communication skills and the ability to handle a diverse crew in a stressful environment\nDemonstrate a strong understanding of current retail safety standards and OSHA guidelines\nAbility to apply on-the-job safety training, to recognize and react to possible safety hazards on store premises\nProficient in MS office properties (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)\nAbility to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays\nTo learn about how we collect, use and secure your personal information.
