Our team oversees the successful movement of products from our vendors to our stores and is self-motivated, passionate, and dedicated.\nAbout the Role:\nAs the Transportation Supervisor, you will provide hands-on leadership for Grocery Outlet's daily outbound transportation and field delivery operations. You will direct and coach drivers, monitor route execution, conduct field observations and ride-alongs, resolve delivery and equipment issues, and reinforce company safety, service, and performance expectations. You will partner with routing, dispatch, warehouse operations, stores, carriers, Fleet/Maintenance, and Transportation leadership to ensure reliable, efficient, and cost-effective deliveries. The Transportation Supervisor will report to the Transportation Manager.\nResponsibilities Include:\nProvide day-to-day direction and hands-on field supervision to drivers while promoting a safe work environment and excellent customer service upstream and downstream.\nCoordinate routing, dispatching, scheduling, and load tracking with common carriers and Grocery Outlet's fleet.\n Maintain active visibility of driver and route activity; monitor route execution, completion, delays, staffing, equipment availability, and delivery exceptions.\n Conduct field observations, store-delivery observations, and ride-alongs to evaluate safe work practices, productivity, delivery procedures, and service standards.\nCoach drivers on safe driving, vehicle inspections, loading and unloading, route execution, store interactions, and performance expectations; document coaching and follow-up as appropriate.\nRespond to route disruptions and service failures, coordinate recovery plans, and communicate timely updates regarding ETAs, driver issues, equipment issues, and operational changes.\nSupport driver onboarding, training, safety meetings, and communication of company policies, procedures, and operational priorities.\nMonitor compliance with GOI policies and DOT/FMCSA requirements, including hours-of-service, ELD, vehicle inspections, and safe delivery practices.\n Investigate and document transportation incidents, accidents, injuries, delivery damage, and service complaints; coordinate appropriate follow-up and corrective action.\nWork as a liaison among IOs (Independent Owner Operators), stores, drivers, carriers, routing, and warehouse operations teams.\nManage and schedule cross-dock shuttles, backhaul appointments, and Final Mile delivery arrangements.\nAssist stores with order management, on-time order placement, delivery schedules, and order exceptions.\nRetrieve and review operational data to monitor driver, route, carrier, and service performance; meet or exceed Key Performance Indicators.\nIdentify opportunities to improve driver productivity, reduce unnecessary overtime and empty miles, improve equipment utilization, and control transportation costs.\nMaintain DOT driver profile records and coordinate fleet preventive maintenance needs.\n May occasionally lift, carry, push or pull materials weighing up to 25 pounds.\n Conduct periodic store follow-up and use knowledge of store operations and GOI to recommend service enhancements, cost-neutral improvements, and cost reductions.\nPerforms other related duties as assigned to support department and business needs.\nAbout The Pay:\n Base Salary Range: $65,000 - $75,000\nAnnual Bonus Program\nEquity\n401(k) Profit Sharing\nMedical, Dental, Vision & More!\nFinal compensation will be determined based upon experience and skills and may vary based on location.\nAbout You:\nBachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience\n3+ years' experience in transportation operations, driver management, routing, and dispatch\nDemonstrated ability to lead, coach, and hold frontline drivers accountable for safety, service, productivity, and attendance expectations\nExperience conducting field observations, ride-alongs, incident follow-up, and documented performance coaching\nAbility to make timely decisions and communicate effectively with all levels of operations (written and oral)\nWorking knowledge of DOT/FMCSA requirements, hours-of-service, ELD, and vehicle inspection practices\nKnowledge of warehouse and store delivery operations\nExperience with multiple or different TMS platforms is ideal\nGeneral computer skills - Microsoft Office, Outlook, WMS\nExcellent communication, problem-solving, organization, and interpersonal skills\nCurrent, valid CDL a plus\nTo learn about how we collect, use and secure your personal information.
