It suits someone who is methodical, follows things to closure, and would rather prevent a shortage than report one.\nPosition details\nDesignation: Senior Executive - Material Planning\nFunction: Supply Chain Management - Centralised Material Planning\nReporting to: Deputy General Manager - Supply Chain Planning\nLocation: Gandhinagar, Gujarat\nExperience: 2 - 5 years\nKey Responsibilities\nPlanning and requirement generation\nPlan and monitor material requirements for all general inventory items across manufacturing operations.\nGenerate material requirement plans from production schedules, forecasts, and consumption patterns.\nRaise purchase requisitions on time and with accurate quantities and dates.\nMaintain planning data in the ERP - reorder levels, safety stock, lead times, and material master records.\nFollow-through and availability\nCoordinate with the Domestic Procurement team to ensure requirements convert into timely purchase orders.\nTrack open purchase orders and supplier lead times and follow up proactively to avoid production delays.\nReview daily material availability against the production plan and highlight potential risks early.\nSupport new product launches by planning and securing required materials in time.\nInventory control\nMonitor inventory levels and maintain optimum stock to prevent both shortages and excess.\nAnalyse material consumption trends and recommend inventory optimisation actions.\nMonitor slow-moving, non-moving, and obsolete inventory and recommend corrective action.\nSupport cycle counts and inventory accuracy improvement with Stores.\nCoordination and reporting\nWork closely with Production Planning, Procurement, Warehouse, Quality and Stores for seamless material flow.\nPrepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on inventory status, shortages, purchase follow-ups, and planning performance.\nEnsure adherence to company inventory policies and planning processes.\nScope boundary\nThis role plans requirements and follows them through to delivery. Supplier selection, negotiation, and purchase order placement sit with the Domestic Procurement team. The planner is accountable for raising the right requirement at the right time and for escalating delays early.\nWhat success looks like in the first 90 days?\nAll general inventory items under an active, maintained plan.\nOpen purchase requisitions and orders tracked daily, with delays escalated before they affect production.\nERP planning parameters cleaned up and accurate for the assigned material groups.\nA working daily shortage report that production and procurement both rely on.\nKey Performance Indicators\nMaterial availability for production (%)\nStock-out incidents.\nInventory turns and inventory record accuracy.\nPurchase requisitions raised on or before the planned date\nOpen purchase order follow-up adherence\nReduction in excess and obsolete inventory\nPlanning accuracy - requirement plan against actual consumption\nProduction schedule adherence attributable to material availability\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Commerce, or a related field.\nA diploma or certification in Supply Chain or Inventory Management will be an advantage.\nExperience\n2 to 5 years in material planning, inventory management, or production planning.\nExperience coordinating with domestic suppliers and an internal procurement team.\nManufacturing background preferred - signage, printing, textiles, packaging or similar.\nExposure to a high-SKU or made-to-order environment is an advantage.\nTechnical Skills\nGood working understanding of Material Requirement Planning (MRP).\nExperience with an ERP system -
