You'll work shoulder to shoulder with product, and we expect you to push back, challenge\nspecs, and drive the business need behind a feature, not just its implementation.\nWhat you'll do\nOwn your domain: design, develop, and operate backend services and core system components in production (our stack:\nNode.js and TypeScript over PostgreSQL) - and take responsibility for their direction, quality, and evolution.\nLead initiatives from ideation to production: identify opportunities, shape the solution, rally the people involved, and see it\nthrough.\nBuild and productize AI-powered features: agents, assistants, and automation workflows that real customers rely on.\nDesign agent creation and orchestration- multi-step flows, tool/function calling, state management, guardrails, and\nfallbacks for when the model gets it wrong.\nCraft and refine prompts and retrieval pipelines, and evaluate their quality systematically rather than by gut feeling.\nCollaborate deeply with product: translate ambiguous business needs into a sound technical shape, scope the right MVP,\nand connect every technical decision to user value.\nUse AI coding tools fluently in daily development - while remaining the engineer of record for everything that ships.\nReview code, human- and AI-written, with a sharp eye for correctness, security, and long-term maintainability.\nBring creative solutions: run POCs, explore new models, tools, and paradigms, and turn the promising ones into practice\nfor the whole team.\nMentor other engineers through technical\nRequirements\n5+ years of experience in backend software development.\nA structured, methodical approach to prompt engineering and AI-assisted development - iterating deliberately and\nmeasuring output quality.\nStrong background in working with relational databases and data modeling in production systems.\nHands-on experience building with LLMs in production - model APIs, structured outputs, and creating or orchestrating\nagents and multi-step workflows, including handling failure modes, latency, and cost. Not only experiments.\nStrong background in distributed systems and system design; solid grasp of design patterns, algorithms, and data\nstructures.\nExperience working with CI/CD pipelines and Agile methodologies.\nFamiliarity with cloud environments (GCP, Azure), and willingness to expand knowledge as needed.\nAdvantages:\nStrong production experience with Node.js and TypeScript.\nExperience with RAG systems - chunking strategies, embeddings, vector search, retrieval quality tuning.\nExperience with formal LLM evaluation frameworks - building eval sets, regression testing for prompts, automated quality\nmetrics.\nMulti-tenant SaaS experience, or deep third-party API integration experience (webhooks, idempotency, rate limits).\nExperience with Angular 17+ or other modern frontend frameworks, and motivation to contribute beyond backend.\nWho you are\nA leader without needing the title: you take initiative, create clarity in ambiguous problem spaces, and move things\nforward without waiting to be asked.\nAn owner: you care about your domain and stand behind what ships from it -
