Joining GRTC means being part of a mission-driven team with the chance to make a lasting impact on how people move and connect.\nSUMMARY:\nThe Financial Analyst is a key member of the Finance team, responsible for supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance analysis. This role focuses on developing and maintaining budget models, preparing accurate revenue and expenditure forecasts, and collaborating with senior leadership to address financial challenges. The analyst monitors organizational financial health, identifies opportunities for cost savings and process improvements, and delivers clear, actionable insights through reports and presentations.\nThis position offers hybrid work flexibility after a 3-month probation period, exposure to senior leadership, and opportunities to grow into middle management roles.\nAccess to advanced modeling tools such as Power BI to develop data analytics skills, along with additional training and development opportunities designed to strengthen financial analysis and broader finance capabilities.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nDevelop and maintain budget models, guidelines, and timelines to support the budgeting process.\nCollaborate with senior leadership to address budgetary challenges and recommend solutions.\nDevelop and deliver accurate financial analyses and reports to support decision-making across business operations.\nMonitor financial performance and escalate concerns to appropriate management when necessary.\nSupport month-end and year-end close processes by preparing analyses, reconciliations, and reporting schedules.\nCollect and analyze data to identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and efficiency gains.\nMaintain and validate financial data to ensure accuracy and consistency across systems and reports.\nAssist in preparing reports and presentations that communicate financial insights to stakeholders.\nPerform additional tasks as needed to support departmental and organizational objectives.\nOTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED:\nIn accordance with our mission statement, additional duties and/or tasks may be assigned to maintain seamless service for the agency.\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:\nThis is an individual contributor role. GRTC Transit System is committed to providing reasonable accommodations to qualified individuals with disabilities to enable them to perform the essential functions of the role.\nEducation / Experiences / Certifications:\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is required.\n1-3 years of relevant experience in financial analysis or FP&A.\nKnowledge / Skills / Abilities:\nGood understanding of financial statements, including budgets, cash flow models, P&L, and balance sheets, with the ability to interpret and analyze data effectively.\nFamiliarity with financial planning and analysis concepts, applying structured methodologies to support accurate reporting and insightful decision-making.\nAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, charts, etc.).\nFamiliarity with ERP Platforms.\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\nExcellent communication and collaboration abilities.\nAbility to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines\nBonus points for:\nExperience in data analytics and driving workflow and process improvements through optimization and change initiatives.\nExposure to cost management by cost drivers.\nUnderstanding of financial accountability frameworks\nPHYSICAL DEMANDS:\nThe physicaldemands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the functions of this job.
