Located just ten minutes from downtown, GRTC’s headquarters power 30,000 transit trips a day, with more routes & regional connections in development as well as a second bus rapid transit line that will complement the Pulse, our ITDP Bronze Medal-winning flagship system that serves as the spine of our network.\nSUMMARY:\nResponsible for ensuring mechanically sound and safe motor vehicles are available in an economically timely manner, to include mechanical repairs to motor vehicles (predominately CNG-powered passenger buses, but includes some diesel and gasoline powered vehicles), both in a shop and during service calls to repair and/or recover vehicles.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:\nTrains employees, schedules job assignments and monitors work.\nProvides technical assistance regarding repairs and replacement of parts and units.\nMake decisions on necessary repairs and replacement of parts.\nMonitors workflow, investigating reasons for delays (e.g. awaiting parts) and takes appropriate steps to expedite the process.\nPrepares requisitions for repair parts and supplies.\nChecks and approves time records.\nPrepares daily time sheets.\nAdministers company and departmental policies.\nChecks for the serviceability of tools/equipment and ensures personnel are trained in the proper use.\nOTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED:\nIn accordance with our mission statement, additional duties and / or tasks may be assigned to continue seamless service for the agency.\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:\nDirects staff of mechanics and assistant supervisor.\nQUALIFICATIONS:\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
