You'll be part of a diverse, supportive and inclusive culture that celebrates our differences and puts people first by fostering growth, well-being, and a sense of belonging.\nWhat you will be doing:\nAs a key part of the Water Treatment Engineering team, you'll create impact by translating customer specifications into buildable, cost-effective system designs that ensure clean water reaches the people and industries that depend on it.\nYour main responsibilities include:\nDesign water and wastewater treatment equipment using SolidWorks, ERP systems, and other engineering tools to meet customer specifications and compliance requirements\nReview technical documents for completeness and provide technical leadership on engineering projects throughout the design-to-build lifecycle\nSupport procurement and manufacturing during system builds by resolving issues, answering questions, and confirming projects proceed on schedule and within budget\nCoordinate cross-functionally with production, testing, purchasing, field startup, and project management to ensure seamless project execution\nContribute to proposal generation, system operating manuals, and continuous improvement of engineering tools and processes\n This position will report to the Brockville, CA or San Luis Obispo, US location on a hybrid schedule.\nWhat makes you a great fit:\nAbove all, you're a detail-oriented mechanical engineer with hands-on experience in water treatment system design, strong cross-functional collaboration skills, and a proven ability to balance technical precision with project timelines and budgets. We'd also imagine that you are/have:\nA bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience is required\nA Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in the applicable state or province\nA minimum of 2+ years of related engineering experience, preferably in the water treatment industry\nWorking knowledge of pumps, blowers, and other fluid handling equipment\nIt's a plus if you also have:\nExperience using SolidWorks for equipment and system design\nPrior costing and budgeting experience for engineered-to-order projects\nProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)\nThe salary range for this position is $80,900 to $107,700 CAD. Individual pay will be determined based on market location and the candidate’s profile. The range listed is just one component of Newterra’s total compensation and benefits package for employees.
