In this customer-facing DataOps role, you will coordinate technical operations, guide dataflow owners, and help evolve high-volume data pipelines toward reliable, automated, and proactively monitored services.\nWhat You'll be Owning\nServe as a technical point of contact with customer stakeholders; translate mission data needs into engineering tasks, workflows, and clear delivery expectations.\nHelp lead day-to-day DataOps activities and coordinate flow owners responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and improving data infrastructure.\nOversee dataflow deployment and maintenance using standardized engineering templates, core libraries, and reusable processes.\nMonitor pipeline health, data availability, system uptime, and discovery latency across distributed messaging, orchestration, and cloud environments.\nTune cluster and pipeline performance; diagnose systemic dataflow and platform-stability issues and coordinate technical remediation.\nImplement automated quality gates, schema checks, and validation workflows to protect production data integrity.\nImprove ETL workflows, metadata completeness, network-data handling, and the consistency of data delivered to analysts and customers.\nApply scripting, automation, and operational feedback to help transition from reactive troubleshooting to proactive, adaptive data operations.\nShare proven workflows and technical approaches across teams, and communicate operational status and platform evolution to stakeholders.\nThis position supports a customer site in Fort Meade, MD. Onsite attendance is typically four to five days per week and may change with customer requirements.\nWhat You Must Have\nU.S. citizenship and a current, active U.S. Government Secret security clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI.\nAt least 9 years of experience in technical operations, systems engineering, or data management with a relevant bachelor's degree; 7 years with a related master's degree; or 13 years with a high-school diploma or equivalent.\nProven experience supporting high-volume dataflows and storage across distributed messaging systems, data orchestration engines, and cloud-native storage platforms.\nExperience with observability and log-analysis tools to monitor system health, dataflow performance, and data discovery latency.\nUnderstanding of network data, metadata completeness or fill rates, and common log or data formats such as JSON and XML.\nExperience managing ETL workflows and using SQL to validate data quality in coordination with technical teams and customers.\nAbility to automate repeatable operational tasks through Python or Java scripting and reusable shared libraries.\nAbility to troubleshoot distributed dataflow issues, support performance tuning, and implement automated quality checks and schema validation.\nStrong customer-facing communication, technical coordination, and requirements-translation skills, including explaining complex systems to nontechnical stakeholders.\nAbility to work at a customer site in Fort Meade, MD, four to five days per week and adapt to changes in the customer schedule.\nWhat Would be Nice to Have\nA currently active TS/SCI clearance.\nPrior experience in customer-facing engineering, technical account management, or customer success.\nExperience designing or operating scalable distributed processing and cloud-native storage architectures.\nExperience supporting cyber or network-security operations.\nKnowledge of automated attribute-based access control (ABAC) or data masking within production pipelines.\nPay Range: At GRVTY, we understand that compensation is influenced by many factors-such as geographic location, federal contract labor categories, wage rates, prior experience, skillsets, education, and certifications.\nWe’re proud to offer a work environment that empowers our team to achieve a strong work-life balance.
