The Role\nThe Buyer will support the Indirect Procurement function in the delivery of a cost-effective, efficient and compliant supply of goods and services across the business.\nThe role will work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to support sourcing activity, supplier management, contract administration, supplier onboarding, ESG compliance, invoice validation and cost control initiatives, whilst developing procurement capability and commercial understanding.\nThis role provides an excellent opportunity to gain broad exposure across multiple indirect spend categories, develop core procurement skills and progress a career within the Indirect Procurement team.\nPrincipal Accountabilities:\nSupport day-to-day purchasing activity across indirect spend categories and manage the shared mailbox\nLead sourcing exercises, including RFQs, supplier comparisons and cost analysis\nDeliver cost down against an annual cost reduction plan and efficiency targets\nLiaise with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure a timely supply\nManage supplier onboarding, compliance documents and maintain accurate records in the document library\nNegotiate and prepare contracts using templated terms & conditions\nLead supplier performance monitoring and Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) activities for allocated categories\nManage invoice queries and work with suppliers and Finance to resolve discrepancies\nEnsure business wide compliance with procurement processes\nSupport use of systems and AI tools to improve efficiency and streamline procurement processes\nReduce Tail Spend and rationalise suppliers\nAssist in the delivery of the Scope 3 Net Zero and EcoVadis workstreams to support GSF’s ESG strategy\nThis role is hybrid with 3 days in our office in Wolverhampton\nAbout You\nSkills, Know How and Experience:\nStrong IT skills including Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook\nAn interest in procurement and supply chain, with a desire to develop professionally\nCIPS qualification (Level 3 or 4) or working towards CIPS is desirable\nExperience in a purchasing, procurement or supply chain environment (preferred but not essential)\nGood numerical skills and analytical skills with attention to detail\nEffective communication skills, both written and verbal\nAbility to organise workload, prioritise tasks and work to deadlines\nA proactive, positive attitude with a willingness to learn\nAbility to work collaboratively with internal teams and external suppliers\nA customer service mindset with a focus on continuous
