These responsibilities include some of the following: \n- Perform routine microbiological testing of raw materials, in-process samples, finished products, and environmental monitoring using approved methods. \n- Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment to ensure data accuracy. \n- Record, analyse, and report microbiological results clearly and accurately using laboratory information systems. \n- Support investigations related to deviations, out-of-specification results, and non-conformances to identify root causes. \n- Assist in validation, transfer, and improvement of microbiological methods and procedures. \nWhy you? \nBasic Qualification \nWe are seeking professionals with the following required skills and qualifications to help us achieve our goals: \n- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Microbiology, Biology, Biomedical Science, or a related scientific discipline. \n- Practical experience in a regulated laboratory environment, including microbiological testing methods. \n- Knowledge of good manufacturing practice (GMP) and good laboratory practice (GLP). \n- Proficiency in using laboratory instruments, such as incubators, autoclaves, microscopes, and microbiological media preparation. \n- Ability to follow detailed procedures precisely and work independently when needed. \n- Strong communication skills and willingness to collaborate closely with diverse teams. \nPreferred Qualification \nIf you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus: \n- Experience with sterility testing, bioburden, endotoxin testing, or environmental monitoring in pharmaceutical settings. \n- Familiarity with laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and electronic data capture tools. \n- Understanding of microbiological method validation and regulatory compliance standards. \n- Participation in laboratory investigations and root cause analysis. \n- Interest or experience in continuous improvement techniques such as Lean or Six Sigma. \n- Ability to contribute actively to cross-department projects or audits. \nWork arrangement \nThis role is fully on-site in the United Kingdom at our Barnard Castle site.
