By joining this team, you’ll help shape systems that support thousands of employees worldwide, driving innovation and reliability in the tools that keep GSK moving forward\nJob Purpose:\n The Principal Developer - Aspen designs, develops, tests, and supports (Manufacturing Execution System) MES solutions using Aspen Manufacturing Suite. The role translates business and manufacturing requirements into reliable, secure, and compliant system solutions, including configurations, databases, integrations, and custom applications. The role supports troubleshooting of complex technical issues, uses approved AI-assisted development tools to improve efficiency, and ensures all solutions meet quality, security, data integrity, and (Good Practice) GxP requirements. The Principal Developer - Aspen also promotes standardization, reusable solutions, and best practices across MES platforms and teams.\nKey Responsibilities:\n\nDesign, configure, develop, and implement MES solutions using Aspen Manufacturing Suite. \nTranslate business and manufacturing requirements into technical solutions by developing and maintaining system integrations, database objects, and custom applications to support business needs.\nPerform testing, deployment, and validation activities to ensure system reliability and compliance. \nTroubleshoot and resolve MES application issues and provide production support. \nUse approved development and AI-assisted tools to improve productivity and solution quality. \nEnsure compliance with GxP, data integrity, cybersecurity, and company standards. \nCreate and maintain technical documentation, design specifications, and support materials. \nContribute to standardization, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives. \nCollaborate with business users, project teams, and vendors to successfully deliver MES projects while providing technical guidance, mentoring, and knowledge sharing to team members. \nParticipate in system upgrades, enhancements, and lifecycle management activities \nDevelop expertise across MES platforms, software technologies, and AI tools to effectively support and deliver solutions across multiple MES systems \nUse AI-assisted development as the default way of coding, testing, reviewing and documenting, and validate all AI-generated output for quality, security, data integrity and GxP before release. \nImplement version control and automated build, test, and deployment practices where supported, achieving improved release quality and deployment efficiency. Monitor production performance, proactively identify and eliminate root causes of issues, reducing recurring incidents and improving system reliability and availability. \nBasic Qualifications:\n\nBachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Automation, Data, Life Sciences or a relevant technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.\nRelevant technical, AI, cloud, integration, automation, data, validation, cyber security or engineering certifications.\nMinimum 7+ years of hands-on technical engineering experience in complex enterprise or operational technology environments.\nExperience in Aspen Manufacturing Suite MES and the ability to work across multiple MES platforms.\nExperience in leading MES solution delivery across products, platforms and sites.\nExperience in software development, database technologies and system integrations within manufacturing or enterprise environments.\nExperience in industrial connectivity technologies such as OPC UA (Unified Architecture)/OPC HDA (Historical Data Access) and manufacturing system integrations.\nExperience in technical review, troubleshooting and root-cause analysis.\nExperience in coordinating cross-functional teams and vendors to deliver compliant solutions that can be operated and scaled.\nExperience in managing technical risk, ensuring data integrity, GxP compliance and supporting audits and inspections.\nExperience in mentoring engineers and supporting technical best practices and standardisation.\nExperience in using AI-assisted development tools and applying software quality, security, compliance and maintainability controls.\nPreferred Qualifications:\n\nExperience in problem-solving, technical leadership and communication.\nExperience in developing solution designs, managing technical documentation and supporting compliant system delivery.\nExperience in integrations, data management, security, quality and change control processes.\nExperience in collaborating across teams, mentoring engineers and supporting standardisation, automation and continuous improvement.\n#AGTech\n#GSK-LI\n Skills\nAgile Methodology, API Management, CI/CD, Cloud Based Services, Computer Programming, Configuration Management (CM), Containerization, Database Management, High Availability (Inactive), Infrastructure As Code (IaC), Microservices Architecture, Network Security, Operating Systems (OS), System Monitors, Version Control SystemWhy GSK?\nUniting science, technology and talent to get ahead of disease together.\nGSK is a global biopharma company with a purpose to unite science, technology and talent to get ahead of disease together.
