As a Network Specialist I, you’ll be the go-to person for turning up new services, keeping them running smoothly, and helping troubleshoot when things go wrong. If you enjoy working with technology, learning new skills, and solving real problems that make a real impact, this role is a great fit.\nMaybe you’ve already worked in telecom, or maybe you’ve built a solid foundation in IP, Transport, or Voice systems and want to grow - either way, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to expand your skills. Here’s what the role looks like:\nService Provisioning & Activation:\nProvision, configure, and activate network services such as DIA, E-LINE/E-LAN, L3VPN, wavelength transport, broadband services, SIP trunking, Hosted PBX, and voice features.\nInstall and configure customer-facing and network-side equipment including routers, switches, demarc devices, optical transport nodes, and PBX/voice platforms.\nPerform turn-up validation, including signal testing, Ethernet loopbacks, call flow verification, and circuit/service acceptance checks.\nAssist in deploying equipment at data center collocations, central and remote offices, and customer premises.\nService Assurance & Troubleshooting:\nAssist in identifying and resolving service faults by utilizing monitoring tools, system logs, alarms, and network test equipment (e.g., OTDR, Ethernet testers, call trace tools).\nPerform Tier-1 troubleshooting and escalate complex issues to Network Engineering, Core Engineering, or vendors as required.\nWork with the NOC to support incident resolution and participate in service-restoration efforts.\nField & On-Site Support:\nPerform network cabling, fiber characterization support, and demarcation setup at different facilities.\nProvide remote hands and feet support for data center colocation and cable landing station facilities.\nDocumentation & Compliance:\nFollow standard operating procedures (SOPs) for installation, configuration, testing, and troubleshooting.\nDocument provisioning details, testing results, fault findings, and corrective actions in ticketing or OSS systems.\nSupport compliance with internal policies, SLAs, and industry standards.\nAdditional Duties:\nParticipate in an on-call rotation for after-hours support.\nPerform other related duties as assigned.\nCandidates must show:\nAbility to promote the Company cultureand mission to all employees, vendors, clients and business partners. \nProduct/Service knowledge: Remains up to date on the latest services and products we provide and has a clear understanding of how each work. Working knowledge of telecom network offerings such as Ethernet, TDM, DSL and Wireless access providers also required. \nCustomer centric:Puts the customer first and creates a positive experience for the customer by building relationships and maximizing service/product offerings. Stays current with knowledge of products clients require and can foresee their future technology needs \nAccountability:Punctual and dependable to meet the needs of our customers. You own your learning and development, and you are committed to evolving\nThis is what you need to have\nHigh School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree in a technical field (telecommunications, networking, IT) or equivalent technical certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA) preferred.\nMinimum of 2 years of experience in telecommunications or network operations, preferably in provisioning, activation, or service support roles.\nDemonstrated ability to learn and operate across multiple networking service domains (IP, Transport, Voice).\nStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to work independently and within a team.\nRegular, punctual, and consistent attendance required.\nFlexibility to work after business hours, weekends, and participate in on-call rotations as needed.\nMust possess a valid driver's license.\nTechnical Requirements\nHands-on experience in at least one of the following technology areas:IP/MPLS & Ethernet services\nOptical Transport (DWDM/OTN/SONET/SDH, Ciena or Fujitsu platforms)\nVoice/PBX systems (SIP, Hosted PBX, TDM, Genband/Metaswitch, Avaya, or similar platforms)\n\nWorking knowledge of installing, configuring, and troubleshooting routers, switches, demarcation devices, PBX systems, and transport nodes.\nBasic understanding of protocols such as DHCP, DNS, SIP, SS7, MGCP, and ISDN.\nExperience using network test equipment (Ethernet testers, OTDRs, fiber scopes, call trace tools).\nFamiliarity with TCP/IP networking fundamentals and the OSI model.\nStill Interested?
