This individual also participates in the planning and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure system provisioning and maintenance that is consistent with company goals, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.\nESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS\nPrimary contact for application software outages.\nWork in System Center Configuration Manager daily by using it to troubleshoot device issues, deploying operating systems and applications, and managing and deploying operating system updates. \nManage all operating systems and end-user software.\nManage electronic communications and connection solutions, including workstation connectivity, local area networks, intranet, and internet applications. \nEnsure the integrity and security of enterprise data on host computers, multiple databases, and during data transfer in accordance to business needs and industry best practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance. \nProvide support for Gaming applications like F9, 1099/1042 tax software, and AdobeAcrobat.\nProvide support for Government applications like StockTrac, ArcGIS, IDPoint, and Badger meter system.\nProvide support for GTR applications like Dynamics and Rainbird.\nProvide support for GTED/GTEC/BSSW applications like AutoCAD, Syteline, Solidworks, and Quickbooks.\nAnalyze application and device performance.\nRecommend, schedule, and perform software and hardware improvements, upgrades, patches, reconfigurations, and/or purchases. \nWorking in Active Directory creating users/vendors, distribution groups, security groups, assigning permissions.\nDeveloping and maintaining Group Policy within the domain\nConduct research on emerging products, services, protocols, and standards in support of systems software procurement and development. \nParticipate in and support capacity planning and the development of long-term strategic goals for systems and software in conjunction with end-users and department managers. \nDevelop, document, and maintain policies, procedures and associated training plans for system administration and appropriate use. \nManage and/or provide guidance to junior members of the team. \nAssist level 1 and level 2 with any questions and/or work order tickets when needed.\nProvide periodic on-call support.\nMaintain tracking of software issues and resolutions.\nMaintain distribution and tracking of all software licenses and upgrades.\nImplement, document and maintain software passwords and work with appropriate department as backup for security access.\nAssist department managers and IT Management with custom reporting needs.\nLiaison with contractors and vendors concerning business systems and related systems.\nReview new business systems strategies with the appropriate department, IT Infrastructure Manager, and Director of IT.\nWork with IT Infrastructure Manager during budget development.\nWork with Director of IT on annual strategic report.\nWillingness to cross-train and provide support in related areas of operations.\nAny other duties as assigned by the IT Infrastructure Manager or Director of IT.\nOTHER NECESSARY SKILLS AND ABILITIES\nMust possess excellent customer service skills and the ability to communicate both verbally, and in written form. \nAbility to interact well with the existing management team by being a good listener, a team builder \nMust be a team player with a positive attitude. \nMust be highly organized and able to handle multiple tasks at one time. \nMust be able to complete tasks and projects in a timely manner by prioritizing obligations and time. Experience documenting and maintaining configuration and process information.\nGood understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.\nThorough understanding of server-side software and administration.\nThorough understanding of Microsoft Office products.\nThorough understanding of TCP/IP, DCHP, DNS, WINS, and static IP addressing.\nKnowledge of Windows Server, and Exchange Server (MCP/MCSE).\nStrong knowledge of local area network administration.\nHands-on software and hardware troubleshooting experience.\nExperience with data management.\nEDUCATION / EXPERIENCE\nMust be at least 18 years of age with a High School Diploma or a GED.\n4-year degree in computer science or related study and/or 6 years equivalent work experience.\nExtensive technical knowledge of network, PC, platform operating systems, and AS400.\nAdvanced technical knowledge of current systems software, protocols, and standards including firewalls, active directory, and windows based operating systems.\nStrong application support experience with storage solutions, Exchange, Microsoft Office, Antivirus, and backup software.\nSUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES\nSenior Systems Technicians.\nEQUIPMENT TO BE USED\nMulti-line telephone, computer, printer, copier, and fax.\nDRIVING REQUIREMENTS\nMust have valid, Michigan driver’s license and be insurable by the GTRC.\nTYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS\nMust be physically able to operate a variety of job-related machines and/or office equipment. Must be able to move or carry job-related objects or materials exceeding 50 lbs.\nTYPICAL MENTAL DEMANDS\nMust be able to effectively handle stressful and compromising situations while remaining focused and professional. Must be able to deal with difficult people without losing perspective. Must be able to work productively under strict time restraints with variable deadlines.\nWORKING CONDITIONS\nMust be able and willing to work in a crowded, loud smoking environment. Must be able to handle being under constant surveillance. May be required to work in a small spaces. Must practice all safety policies, procedures and standards as set by OSHA. Some travel may be required for the needs of the business or for further training regarding the department or the business.
