Responsibilities\nSystem-Level Structural Ownership\nDefine and own the structural design approach across multiple programs and product lines\nEstablish standard methodologies for analysis, load cases, and structural modeling\nEnsure consistency in structural design across BESS, modular data centers, and GenSet platforms\nOperate as design lead and technical authority across concurrent engineering programs\nDesign Standardization & Framework Development\nDevelop, maintain, and improve structural design standards, connection libraries, and calculation templates\nStandardize weld details, bolted connections, and structural systems for repeatability and scalability\nDrive reuse of proven design solutions across programs\nImprove structural design standards, analysis templates, and calculation methodologies used by the engineering team\nAdvanced Technical Problem Solving\nLead resolution of complex, ambiguous structural challenges impacting multiple projects\nMake engineering judgments on non-standard or undefined design conditions\nProvide technical direction on advanced structural analysis and design scenarios\nSupport root cause analysis for structural failures and implement long-term corrective actions\nDesign for Manufacturing (DFM) Leadership\nDrive structural designs that optimize fabrication, assembly, and system integration\nReduce manufacturing variation through standardized and production-aligned design practices\nPartner with Mechanical, Electrical, and Manufacturing Engineering to improve build efficiency, cost, and throughput\nSupport continuous improvement of DFM practices across structural deliverables\nCross-Program & Cross-Functional Leadership\nInfluence engineering direction across multiple teams and programs\nServe as the bridge between engineering leadership and individual contributors\nManage structural design interfaces with mechanical and electrical disciplines to ensure coordinated and calculations and designs across multiple teams\nPerform code reviews for structural compliance\nEnsure compliance with AISC, ASCE, IBC, and internal engineering standards\nReview and QC drawings and calculation packages prior to release, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance\nPerformance & Optimization Initiatives\nLead initiatives to optimize structural designs for cost, weight, and material efficiency across product lines\nImprove structural performance, durability, and manufacturability\nIdentify opportunities for innovation in materials, design approaches, and fabrication methods\nLeadership, Mentorship & Team Development\nDirectly supervise structural engineers across multiple levels, providing technical guidance, workload direction, and performance feedback\nServe as a technical mentor and resource for the structural engineering team\nShape skill development roadmaps and engineering process improvements\nInfluence hiring decisions, onboarding, and performance evaluation processes for the structural team\nDesign Leadership & Customer Interface\nLead and facilitate engineering design meetings including kick-offs, design reviews, coordination meetings, and milestone gate reviews\nInterface directly with customers on structural scope, design intent, and technical constraints\nWork closely with the Technical Director on high-complexity structural challenges and engineering initiatives\nProfessional Responsibility\nStamp and seal structural drawings and calculations where PE licensure applies\nQualifications\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related discipline\n10-15+ years of structural engineering experience with significant exposure to structural steel design\nDemonstrated experience operating as a technical lead across multiple programs or product lines\nDeep expertise in structural analysis, connection design, and steel systems per AISC and ASCE standards\nStrong experience in design standardization, technical governance, and cross-functional engineering leadership\nProven ability to solve complex, ambiguous engineering problems\nPreferred Qualifications\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license strongly preferred\nExperience in modular systems, prefabrication, or industrial manufacturing environments\nExperience supporting BESS, modular data centers, or power generation systems\nFamiliarity with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles in fabrication-heavy environments\nExperience influencing engineering organizations in growth-stage or high-mix manufacturing
