Our scope spans Engineering, prototype builds, through full production, requiring teams that can move fast, adapt, and execute with precision.GTI Values: Safety I Quality I Customer Obsession I Speed I Agility Position OverviewGTI is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to design and analyze large steel structures for custom modular and industrial applications.\nThis is a hands-on engineering role for someone who enjoys solving complex structural problems and seeing their designs move from calculations and analysis through fabrication and field deployment.\nYou do not need prior modular manufacturing experience. Engineers with backgrounds in industrial structures, structural steel, power generation, oil & gas, equipment structures, bridges, transmission structures, heavy fabrication, or similar applications are encouraged to apply.\nThis position is remote with travel up to approximately 25% to support manufacturing facilities, projects, and field activities.\nKey Responsibilities\nDesign and analyze structural steel frames, platforms, equipment supports, welded assemblies, enclosures, and modular structures.\n\nPerform and document structural calculations, including member sizing, connections, load paths, and structural capacity.\n\nEvaluate static, dynamic, wind, seismic, fatigue, lifting, transportation, and equipment loads as applicable.\n\nDevelop and validate structural models using RISA, STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, or similar analysis software.\n\nDesign and evaluate welded and bolted connections and support development of fabrication-ready details.\n\nApply applicable codes and standards, including AISC, ASCE 7, IBC, and AWS D1.1.\n\nWork directly with mechanical engineers, designers, fabricators, quality, manufacturing, and project teams to turn concepts into buildable designs.\n\nReview drawings, shop details, fabrication issues, and field conditions and provide practical engineering solutions.\n\nSupport prototype/first-build activities, structural validation, installation, and field modifications when needed.\n\nHelp develop structural engineering standards, calculation methods, and design practices as GTI continues to grow.\n\nRequirements\nRequired Qualifications\n\nBachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering discipline.\n\n5+ years of hands-on structural engineering experience.\n\nDemonstrated experience personally performing structural calculations and steel design.\n\nExperience designing structural steel members and welded and/or bolted connections.\n\nWorking knowledge of AISC and applicable structural design codes.\n\nExperience with structural analysis software such as RISA, STAAD.Pro, SAP2000, or similar.\n\nAbility to develop practical designs that can be fabricated and built.\n\nStrong communication and problem-solving skills.\n\nActive Professional Engineer (PE) license.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\nExperience with industrial structures, modular construction, equipment supports, skids, enclosures, heavy fabrication, power generation, oil & gas, transmission structures, bridges, or similar steel structures.\n\nExperience working directly with fabrication or manufacturing teams.\n\nSolidWorks and/or AutoCAD experience.\n\nExperience with lifting, transportation, fatigue, dynamic, wind, or seismic analysis.\n\nExperience supporting structures from initial design through fabrication and field installation.\n\nNCEES Record and/or ability to obtain PE licensure in additional states.\n\nBilingual English/Spanish is a plus.\n\nBenefits & Perks\nGTI Energy offers a competitive compensation and benefits package designed to support employees and their families while providing long-term career growth opportunities within a fast-growing manufacturing organization.
