This role ensures that balances owed are accurate, defensible, well-documented, and collected in a timely and compliant manner. The Manager leads a team focused on communication accuracy, payment tracking, reconciliation, and continuous process improvement, while ensuring clear boundaries from claims billing or authorization decisions. This position plays a critical role in financial accuracy, program integrity, and the reduction of outstanding balances through disciplined, transparent practices.\nRESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES\nPrimary Responsibilities\nManage and develop the Program Collections team supporting OPR and Cost Share activities.\nEnsure OPRs and cost share invoices are accurate, supportable, validated, and compliant before initiating any collection efforts.\nOversee participant, employee, and employer communications related to amounts owed, ensuring clarity, professionalism, and consistency.\nEnsure timely collection, application, tracking, and reconciliation of payments received.\nCoordinate the accurate pass-through of cost share payments to the state and ensure reliable tracking and reporting.\nDrive collection performance by analyzing trends, monitoring results, and implementing corrective actions.\nEnsures garnishments and child support withholdings are entered timely and accurately.\nLead process improvements to reduce repeat errors, minimize disputes, and move away from reliance on individual knowledge.\nEDUCATION\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred. \nEquivalent experience may be considered in place of formal education.\nEXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS\nExperience managing or supervising a collections, billing, or financial operations team. \nStrong understanding of financial controls, documentation requirements, and reconciliation processes. \nProven ability to identify process gaps and implement improvements. \nExceptional communication skills-able to deliver clear, professional, and empathetic messages. \nDemonstrated ability to work with cross-functional partners and navigate complex program rules.\nWORK ENVIRONMENT\nFast-paced operational environment requiring strong attention to detail and accuracy. \nFrequent coordination with finance, program operations, HR, and external stakeholders. \nRole may involve sensitive financial discussions requiring discretion and professionalism.\nAs a family-founded national leader in personal and financial services for individuals who rely on home- and community-based care, GT Independence supports tens of thousands of people across the country as they find and hire their own caregivers or personal assistants.\nOur finance team is driven by trust, autonomy, and-yes-fun.
