This role requires a highly technical, hands-on cloud engineering professional capable of designing, implementing, and supporting secure AWS environments in mission-critical enterprise environments.\nThis position is ideal for an engineer who combines AWS architecture depth with recent hands-on implementation experience across infrastructure, networking, security, data, and migration activities.\nDesign, build, configure, and implement enterprise AWS environments supporting critical business and mission workloads.\n\nDevelop AWS infrastructure across networking, security, compute, storage, monitoring, logging, resiliency, and backup/recovery services.\n\nAssess existing infrastructure, applications, databases, and integrations to identify modernization opportunities and migration approaches.\n\nDefine target-state cloud architectures and lead implementation across hybrid and on-premises environments.\n\nExecute migration activities including application/data migration, environment readiness, cutover planning, validation, and operational transition.\n\nDesign and implement secure multi-account and multi-tenant AWS environments using best practices for segmentation, access control, encryption, monitoring, and governance.\n\nDesign and optimize enterprise data architectures and pipelines across AWS, including data models, integration frameworks, ingestion, transformation, and storage solutions.\n\nSupport enterprise data solutions involving relational databases, AWS RDS, object storage, data migration, protection, backup, recovery, and performance optimization.\n\nCollaborate with cybersecurity, infrastructure, application development, data management, and operations teams to implement technical solutions that satisfy business and compliance requirements.\n\nProduce solution designs, implementation guides, migration runbooks, architecture diagrams, operational procedures, and support documentation.\n\nLead technical working sessions to resolve architecture decisions, migration challenges, integration requirements, and infrastructure dependencies.\n\nSupport cloud operations, disaster recovery, high availability, capacity planning, performance optimization, and operational readiness.\n\nProvide hands-on AWS troubleshooting, engineering support, implementation, and production issue resolution.\n\nWhat You Will Need\nUS Citizenship\n\nMust be able to OBTAIN and MAINTAIN a Federal or DoD \"PUBLIC TRUST\"; candidates must obtain approved adjudication of their PUBLIC TRUST prior to onboarding with Guidehouse. Candidates with an ACTIVE PUBLIC TRUST or SUITABILITY are preferred.\n\nBachelor Degree\n\nMinimum EIGHT (8) years of experience designing, implementing, and supporting complex enterprise IT systems.\n\nMinimum FIVE (5) years of hands-on AWS engineering and architecture experience.\n\nRecent hands-on AWS engineering experience deploying, configuring, troubleshooting, and supporting enterprise cloud environments. Candidates must have built and supported AWS solutions directly, not solely provided architecture or advisory services.\n\nExperience serving in senior cloud engineering, systems engineering, infrastructure engineering, cloud architecture, or solutions architecture roles.\n\nStrong experience with core AWS services, including EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, EBS/EFS, RDS, Elastic Load Balancing, KMS, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and backup/disaster recovery services.\n\nExperience implementing AWS environments, not only creating architecture documentation.\n\nExperience designing and supporting multi-account, multi-environment, or multi-tenant cloud environments.\n\nExperience planning and executing cloud modernization and migration initiatives.\n\nStrong database and data platform experience including SQL-based systems, relational databases, data migration, and data lifecycle management.\n\nFamiliarity with enterprise data integration, reporting, compliance, audit, or analytics-supporting architectures.\n\nExperience supporting federal compliance environments, including NIST 800-53, RMF, STIGs, ATO processes, continuous monitoring, audit, and security controls.\n\nExperience supporting hybrid, secured, restricted, or enclave environments.\n\nStrong knowledge of Linux, Windows, enterprise networking, DNS, firewalls, proxies, identity federation, load balancing, monitoring, encryption, backup, and recovery.\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills.\n\nWhat Would Be Nice To Have\nActive Federal or DoD Top Secret clearance.\n\nAWS certifications such as Solutions Architect Associate/Professional, Security Specialty, Database Specialty, or Data Analytics Specialty.\n\nExperience supporting federal law enforcement, national security, intelligence, or other highly regulated government environments.\n\nExperience with AWS GovCloud.\n\nExperience with AWS Organizations, Control Tower, Service Catalog, and enterprise cloud governance frameworks.\n\nExperience with Infrastructure as Code, automation, and CI/CD tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, GitHub, GitLab, Jenkins, or Azure DevOps.\n\nExperience with data governance, metadata management, lineage, retention policies, and secure data-sharing capabilities.\n\nExperience designing highly available architectures and disaster recovery solutions.\n\nExperience with FinOps, tagging strategies, cloud cost management, and performance optimization.\n\nThe annual salary range for this position is $130,000.00-$216,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
