This is a full-time position located in Bethesda, MD.\nAssists with performing basic laboratory experiments and procedures.\nCollect and analyze biological data about relationships among and between organisms and their environment.\nPrepares, organizes, and maintains various lab samples, supplies, and equipment.\nAnalyze laboratory findings.\nLearns new laboratory techniques and procedures.\nPerform sample preparation for studies of rodent inner ear cellular biology.\nOperate laboratory equipment to analyze samples.\nProgram and use computers to store, process, and analyze data.\nSupport investigations through the design and execution of laboratory experiments and preparation of biological specimens.\nManage transgenic mouse colonies and assist with microscopy data collection and interpretation.\nPrepare written summaries of experimental findings, including figures and interpretations for presentations and publications.\nProvide periodic literature summaries and contribute to lab inventory tracking and maintenance documentation.\nDeliver progress updates during meetings or as requested by leadership.\nWhat You Will Need:\nMaster’s degree in biology or a related field.\nA minimum of ONE (1) year of relevant laboratory experience.\nExperience or academic exposure to laboratory techniques and biological data analysis.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office.\nAbility to work collaboratively in a laboratory setting with small animals (rodents).\nExperience with computational analysis of microscopy data.\nExperience working with transgenic mice and managing mouse colonies.\nStrong organizational skills for maintaining lab samples, supplies, and documentation.\nAbility to perform repetitive lab activities and handle standard lab equipment safely.\nMust be able to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD “public trust”; candidates must receive approved adjudication prior to onboarding with Guidehouse. Candidates with an active public trust or suitability are preferred.\nWhat Would Be Nice To Have:\nFamiliarity with state-of-the-art confocal microscopy systems.\nExperience with sample preparation techniques for confocal microscopy.\nExposure to scientific literature review and technical writing for research environments.\nThe annual salary range for this position is $56,000.00-$94,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
