This role serves as a senior technical resource responsible for ensuring the performance, availability, security, and reliability of production database platforms while supporting the adoption of cloud and managed database technologies.\nKey responsibilities include:\nAdminister, maintain, and support production Oracle databases, including configuration management, patching, upgrades, performance tuning, backup and recovery, security, troubleshooting, and lifecycle management.\nServe as a senior escalation point for complex Oracle database incidents and operational challenges.\nSupport and maintain database workloads hosted on cloud and managed database platforms, including Microsoft Azure and Tessell.\nParticipate in database modernization initiatives, migrations, and cloud adoption efforts.\nDesign, implement, and maintain automation solutions leveraging scripting, APIs, configuration management, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) technologies.\nTroubleshoot issues that span database, infrastructure, application, cloud, and security domains while collaborating with cross-functional technical teams.\nSupport additional database technologies, including PostgreSQL, MySQL, and Microsoft SQL Server, as operational requirements evolve.\nDevelop and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, automation artifacts, and knowledge transfer materials to support effective primary and secondary coverage.\nPerform work in accordance with Incident Management, Change Management, Problem Management, vulnerability remediation, security compliance, and DevSecOps practices.\nSupport highly available, business-critical production environments requiring reliable 24x7 operations.\nContribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, service reliability, automation, and customer satisfaction.\nWhat You Will Need\nBachelor's degree; additional FOUR (4) years of relevant experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.\nSIX (6+) years of experience in database administration, database engineering, or related technical roles.\nHands-on experience administering Oracle database environments in production settings.\nExperience with: Oracle database administration and lifecycle management Performance monitoring, analysis, and tuning Backup and recovery operations High availability and resiliency solutions Database patching and upgrades Incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis Database security and vulnerability remediation Automation, scripting, Infrastructure-as-Code, or configuration management technologies\nExperience supporting mission-critical or business-critical database environments with stringent availability, security, and performance requirements.\nExperience supporting databases within cloud, managed-service, virtualized, or hybrid-cloud environments.\nStrong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, documentation, and customer-service skills.\nDemonstrated ability to adapt to evolving technologies, cloud modernization initiatives, and changing operational requirements.\nAbility to work independently and collaboratively across multifunctional technical teams.\nAbility to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or other federal government clearance as required.\nWhat Would Be Nice To Have\nExperience supporting database workloads in Microsoft Azure.\nExperience with Tessell or similar Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) or managed database platforms.\nExperience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, or other enterprise database technologies.\nExperience migrating Oracle or enterprise databases to cloud-hosted or managed-service platforms.\nExperience with automation and scripting technologies such as Python, PowerShell, Bash/Shell scripting, Ansible, Terraform, and REST APIs.\nExperience with Git-based source control, CI/CD pipelines, and DevSecOps practices.\nExperience with enterprise monitoring, observability, and performance management platforms.\nOracle, Microsoft Azure, cloud, database, security, or ITIL certifications.\nDemonstrated commitment to operational excellence, continuous learning, and customer-focused service delivery.\nExperience supporting federal government or other highly regulated environments.\nThe annual salary range for this position is $106,000.00-$176,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
