This is a full-time, on-site opportunity in Bethesda, MD.\nBreed and cross different fish colonies. \nCulture primary cells collected from fish germline or soma. \nFix and immune-stain cells and tissues collected from fish. \nPerform traditional and Gateway cloning to tag genes with a wide variety of fluorescent and non-fluorescent tags. \nGenerate mutant gene alleles for structure function studies. \nRecord and interpret experimental research data. \nReview and discuss experimental research results. \nTrain others to perform biological and biochemical assays. \nCreate and maintain zebrafish transgenic animals. \n What You Will Need:\nPh.D. in Biology, Life Sciences or a related discipline with a minimum FOUR (4) years of experience in related field or master’s degree with at least SIX (6) years of specialized experience in lieu of PhD.\nExtensive experience in Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) and microscopy techniques. \nExtensive knowledge of fish and frog genetics and asexual reproduction. \nMust be able to obtain and maintain a Federal or DoD “public trust”; candidates must receive approved adjudication prior to onboarding with Guidehouse.
