We deliver SaaS solutions via Guidewire Cloud that enable our customers to rapidly innovate and drive measurable value. Our Application Platform helps internal developers and customers build innovative insurance applications with the aim to boost developer productivity, establish a vendor ecosystem and leverage the latest cloud technologies. As a Technical Program Manager, you will play a key role within Application Platform organization, driving projects internally (and with other teams). You will be responsible to drive and coordinate major platform and cloud service initiatives with the highest degree of complexity. Your impact will be felt across the organization. You will spend a significant proportion of your time developing the capabilities of the team as a whole.\nJob Description\nWhat you’ll do\nLead end-to-end planning and execution of complex, multi-team technical programs across platform, cloud operations, product engineering, data, and security to support PDO’s goals in reliability, security, and gross margin improvement.\nPartner with engineering, product management, design, QA, business stakeholders, and infrastructure teams to define scope, problem statements, success metrics, and delivery milestones for initiatives such as GenAI “lifts,” cloud reliability improvements, and new platform capabilities.\nDevelop, maintain, and continuously refine integrated program plans-including timelines, dependency maps, risk registers, and release plans-to ensure programs land on time, within scope, and with clearly defined business outcomes.\nManage cross-functional dependencies, proactively identify and remove blockers, and escalate risks with data-driven options so teams can move quickly while maintaining quality, compliance, and customer trust.\nFacilitate agile ceremonies, technical deep dives, architecture and design discussions, and regular program syncs that align teams around priorities, trade-offs, and delivery commitments across loosely coupled domains.\nImplement and evolve program governance, reporting cadences, and operational best practices that improve transparency, decision-making, and execution efficiency across PDO and partner organizations.\nDefine and own program-level KPIs (e.g., reliability, incident metrics, development velocity, technical debt reduction, cloud and data platform adoption, infrastructure stability), track variances, and drive course-corrections based on data and continuous feedback.\nEnsure technical readiness for production releases-including security posture, scalability, performance, disaster recovery dependencies, and operational health-aligned with Guidewire’s security and compliance standards.\nCollaborate with leadership to drive change management, refine processes, and align programs with Guidewire’s broader vision to embed AI and GenAI across products and operations, including initiatives like the Agentic AI Platform and cloud adoption accelerators.\nInfluence platform and tooling direction by identifying opportunities to streamline developer workflows, improve operational efficiency, and better support AI, cloud, and data platform adoption across PDO and other teams.\nManage relationships with vendors and third-party service providers where applicable, including contract and SLA considerations, to ensure external dependencies support program outcomes and service reliability.\nAct as the “glue” that connects high-velocity, distributed teams, ensuring alignment with Guidewire’s mission to transform how P&C insurers operate through a secure, scalable, AI-enabled cloud platform.\nAt Guidewire, we foster a culture of curiosity, innovation, and responsible use of AI-empowering our teams to continuously leverage emerging technologies and data-driven insights to enhance productivity and outcomes.\nRequired Skills & Experience\n12+ years of total professional experience, including 5+ years in technical program management driving complex, multi-team software initiatives, preferably in cloud, infrastructure, or platform environments.\nStrong understanding of the software development lifecycle and agile or hybrid delivery models, with the ability to work effectively with engineering, product, operations, and security teams.\nSolid grasp of modern software architecture, cloud systems (e.g., distributed, multi-tenant SaaS), and platform engineering concepts such as reliability, observability, and scalability.\nProven track record of designing and running metrics-driven programs: defining KPIs, building dashboards or reporting mechanisms, and using data to guide decisions, communicate impact, and improve program performance.\nHands-on experience with engineering planning and tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Aha!, Confluence, Google Sheets) to manage backlogs, dependencies, and status reporting at scale.\nExceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex technical topics for executives and non-technical partners, and to drive alignment among diverse viewpoints.\nProficiency with change management principles and techniques-able to guide teams through new processes, tools, and ways of working while minimizing disruption and resistance.\nDemonstrated ability to embrace AI and apply it to your current role as well as data-driven insights to drive innovation, productivity, and continuous improvement. Preferred Skills & Experience\nExperience leading programs related to cloud operations, platform reliability, AI/ML or GenAI features, or large-scale data platforms.\nBackground in or exposure to P&C insurance or other highly regulated industries, particularly in cloud or SaaS environments.\nExperience with vendor management, including understanding of SLAs, contract implications, and how external partners fit into critical program paths.\nPrior experience in organizations undergoing significant cloud, AI, or data platform transformation, especially where operational excellence and innovation must be balanced.\nBS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field-or equivalent demonstrated technical proficiency through experience. Your Impact We believe in clarity and setting you up for success. In your first months, you’ll immerse yourself in PDO’s FY26 VPMOM, understand our AI, cloud, and data platform priorities, and take ownership of one or more high-impact programs-such as reliability and security improvements, GenAI-enabled product capabilities, or cross-region disaster recovery and readiness initiatives. You’ll establish program structures, clarify goals and KPIs, and build trusted relationships with engineering, product, security, operations, and go-to-market leaders. As your programs mature, you’ll be accountable for measurable outcomes like improved service reliability, faster time-to-market for AI-infused features, increased adoption of cloud and data platform capabilities, and reduced operational toil. Your work will directly support Guidewire’s mission to combine digital, core, analytics, and AI into a cloud platform that helps P&C insurers operate more efficiently and deliver better experiences to their customers worldwide.\nAbout Guidewire\nGuidewire is the platform P&C insurers trust to engage, innovate, and grow efficiently.
