At Guidewire, you'll contribute to a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer-centricity, helping transform the way the world's P&C insurers do business.\nJob Description\nKey Responsibilities\nDevelop and maintain features for Guidewire's application platform, primarily focusing on backend services.\nApply agentic coding tools as Guidewire uses them to dramatically accelerate development.\nWrite clean, well-tested code with attention to quality and security.\nCollaborate with team members to deliver secure, scalable, and efficient platform operations.\nParticipate in code reviews and learn from team best practices.\nAt Guidewire, we foster a culture of curiosity, innovation, and responsible use of AI-empowering our teams to continuously leverage emerging technologies and data-driven insights to enhance productivity and outcomes.\nRequired Qualifications\n3-5 years of experience in backend software engineering, with experience building web services or applications.\nExperience with coding agents and automation tools.\nFamiliarity with one of Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, with willingness to learn other languages.\nFamiliarity with Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases (vector DBs), AI agents, and Model Context Protocol (MCP).\nGood collaboration and communication skills.\nFamiliarity with or willingness to learn Kubernetes and infrastructure as code.\nDemonstrated ability to embrace AI and apply it to your role as well as use data-driven insights to drive innovation, productivity, and continuous improvement.\n\nThe US base salary range for this full-time position is $109,000 - $186,000. Your base pay will depend on your experience, skills, education, training, and location among other factors. All full-time positions or part-time roles working 30 hours or more a week at Guidewire are eligible for benefits that support their health and well-being including health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, and a company sponsored retirement plan.
