If you don’t have a background in the insurance domain, don’t worry-our team includes many with deep insurance expertise who will help you ramp up as you contribute your engineering skills.\nJob Description\nWhat you'll do:\nAnalyze product requirements and translate them into functional definitions and software designs for the InsuranceNow product.\n\nDevelop product features and write automated tests, dedicating over 80% of your time to hands-on coding.\n\nContribute to the continuous integration (CI) and continuous deployment (CD) pipelines for InsuranceNow services.\n\nMaintain secure code and proactively resolve application security findings incollaboration with our security teams.\n\nTriage and resolve code defects to ensure high-quality, reliable releases.\n\nSupport the scalability, availability, and data security of InsuranceNow’s product services.\n\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams (product management, QA, operations, and domain experts) to deliver product enhancements that drive measurable customer value.\n\nEmbrace Guidewire’s values of collegiality, integrity, and rationality, contributing to a culture that is customer-focused and innovation-driven.\n\nWhat you'll bring:\n2-3 years of experience using Java and object-oriented programming.\n\nSolid understanding of SQL and relational databases.\n\nFamiliarity with Continuous Delivery, Continuous Integration, Unit Testing, and related engineering practices.\n\nCloud services knowledge (e.g., AWS) is a huge plus.\n\nUnderstanding of Single-Sign-On (SSO), SAML, and authentication/authorizationconcepts is a big plus.\n\nWillingness to learn the insurance domain; prior insurance experience is not required.\n\nSuccessful software engineers at Guidewire typically:\nWant to work collaboratively in small, empowered, cross-functional teams.\n\nAre committed to writing clean, maintainable, and well-tested code and collaborating effectively with geographically distributed teams and domain experts.\n\nHave experience in agile development environments (e.g., TDD, agile practices, pair programming).\n\nShow curiosity and internal motivation to constantly improve their skills and the product.\n\nCommunicate clearly, are comfortable speaking their mind and sharing ideas based on merit, and at the same time bring humility and a hunger to learn from others.\n\nAbout Guidewire\nGuidewire is the platform P&C insurers trust to engage, innovate, and grow efficiently.
