You'll work from initial concepts through prototyping, testing and manufacturing, ensuring that products are practical, reliable and suitable for mass production.\nKey responsibilities\nDevelop and engineer physical products and mechanical components\n\nCreate 3D CAD models, assemblies and detailed engineering drawings\n\nDesign primarily for metal fabrication and manufacturing\n\nDevelop mechanisms, structures, brackets, joints and other hardware components\n\nReview product designs for manufacturability, strength, assembly and cost\n\nDetermine suitable materials, dimensions, tolerances and manufacturing processes\n\nBuild and evaluate prototypes and make improvements based on testing\n\nTroubleshoot mechanical and structural issues in existing products\n\nImprove existing products for better performance, durability and ease of manufacture\n\nWork with manufacturers and suppliers to resolve engineering and production issues\n\nAbout you\nBackground in Mechanical Engineering, Product Engineering, Industrial Design Engineering or a related field\n\nStrong experience with hardware or physical product development\n\nProficient in CAD software such as SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Inventor or similar\n\nGood understanding of metal fabrication and manufacturing processes, such as sheet metal, CNC machining, bending, welding, laser cutting and related processes\n\nAble to produce clear and accurate engineering drawings for manufacturing\n\nUnderstanding of tolerances, fits, fasteners, materials and mechanical assemblies\n\nAble to design with manufacturability and cost in mind\n\nComfortable developing and improving products through prototyping and testing\n\nAble to communicate effectively with manufacturers and suppliers\n\nSkills\nMetal
