This role provides critical structural integrity data that supports blade life extension, root cause investigations, repair scope development, and return-to-service decisions.This position requires domestic and international travel, the ability to work at height and in confined blade spaces, and a high level of technical and safety discipline. Technicians work closely with field repair crews, engineering teams, and customer representatives to ensure data is collected, interpreted, and documented to the highest industry standards. \nResponsibilities:\nUltrasonic & NDT Inspections\nPerform A-scan, B-scan, and phased array UT inspections on: \nComposite material inspections to identify defects, discontinuities, and structural concerns in the following but not limited to \nBlade shells \n\nMain Laminates \n\nShear webs \n\nRoot laminate \n\nAdhesive bond lines \n\nDetect and characterize: \nDelaminations \n\nVoids \n\nDebonding \n\nPorosity \n\nImpact damage \n\nAdhesive failures \n\nSupport additional NDT methods when required \nField Deployment & Access\nPerform inspections: \n Uptower (inside blades, hubs, and nacelles) \n\n Downtower (on suspended blades or ground-based supports) \n\nWork safely in: \nConfined spaces inside blades \n\nRope access and suspended work platforms \n\nHigh-wind and remote site conditions \n\nInterface with rigging crews, rope access teams, and crane crews to coordinate safe access \nData Interpretation & Engineering Support\nAnalyze UT signals and map defect geometry, depth, and severity \nCorrelate UT findings with: \nVisual observations \n\nKnown failure modes \n\nManufacturing layup and ply orientation \n\nProvide real-time guidance to repair crews on: \nDefect boundaries \n\nRequired scarf dimensions \n\nRepair acceptability \n\nReporting & Documentation\nProduce professional inspection reports including: \nDefect maps \n\nC-scan or A/B-scan images \n\nDamage classifications \n\nRepair recommendations \n\nMaintain digital inspection records and upload to GWT systems \nSupport engineering teams with: \nRoot cause analysis \n\nWarranty claims \n\nInsurance and customer documentation \n\n Safety & Compliance\nWork in strict compliance with: \nOSHA \n\nGWO safety training \n\nConfined space and fall-protection procedures \n\nPerform job hazard analyses (JHAs) before inspections \nMaintain Stop-Work Authority when conditions are unsafe \nOther duties as assigned\nRequired qualifications\nTechnical \nLevel II or Level III Ultrasonic Testing (UT) certification (ASNT, NAS-410, or equivalent) \nDemonstrated experience with phased array ultrasonic testing (PAUT) \nDemonstrated experience inspecting composite structures \nExperience with: \nWind turbine blades OR \nAerospace, marine, or high-performance composites \nAbility to interpret: \nA-scan, B-scan, and phased-array UT data \nField Experience \nExperience working: \nAt heights \nIn confined spaces \nIn industrial or wind-energy environments \nAbility to climb turbines and work inside blades \nTravel & Schedule \nMust be able to travel 70-90% of the time \nMust be able to work: \nRotational schedules \nWeekends \nPhysical Requirements \nAble to: \nClimb ladders and towers \nCrawl inside blade structures \nLift and carry 50+ lbs \nWork in extreme heat, cold, and wind \n\nDesired qualifications \nPrior wind-turbine blade inspection experience \nExperience supporting root cause investigations \nFamiliarity with: \nGWO \nComposite repair processes \n\nIf you meet the qualifications above and are passionate about renewable energy and the wind industry, please apply to join our team as a NDT Technician.
