This is an opportunity to combine hands-on experimental test expertise with the technical leadership, independence, and judgment expected at this level.\nYour Opportunity\nAs an Experimental Test Technical Specialist 3, a Level 5 engineering position, you will lead complex engineering test projects involving mechanical, structural, materials, and environmental testing.\nYou’ll take engineering requirements from concept through test execution and results, determining appropriate test approaches, procedures, hardware, instrumentation, and data requirements. You’ll make technical decisions and recommendations, provide direction to engineering customers, and apply broad expertise or specialized knowledge to challenges requiring advanced engineering solutions.\nBeyond individual test programs, you’ll help strengthen experimental testing by developing standards and guidance, mentoring engineers and technicians, and identifying strategic improvements to laboratory methods and processes.\nWhy Gulfstream\nExperimental testing puts you where engineering requirements meet physical validation. selections, instrumentation, and data requirements.\nDevelop test plans, procedures, reports, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and other technical documentation.\nApply advanced engineering principles and specialized expertise to mechanical, structural, materials, and environmental testing challenges.\nMake technical decisions and recommendations that have an important impact on broader engineering activities.\nWork directly with engineering customers to define testing needs and provide technical direction.\nDevelop improved test methods, procedures, standards, and practices to optimize technical, cost, and schedule requirements.\nTrain, mentor, and provide technical guidance to engineers and technicians while promoting safe and effective test and experimental test practices.\nWhat You Will Bring\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related curriculum applicable to the position, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job.\n13 years of experience in a specific technical discipline or 15 years of broad engineering experience across several technical disciplines with a bachelor’s degree.\nExperience translating engineering requirements into test concepts, designs, procedures, hardware selections, and data requirements for mechanical, structural, materials, and/or environmental testing.\nStrong understanding of test safety and experience developing test plans, procedures, reports, SOPs, and work instructions.\nStrong communication and customer coordination skills, including the ability to train, mentor, and provide technical guidance to less-experienced engineers and technicians.\nDemonstrated problem-solving ability through education-based assignments and/or prior work experience.\nDemonstrated initiative in developing strategic improvements to improve the business.\nExperience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and related Microsoft Office applications.\nSuccessful experience working with external engineering customers and providing technical direction.\nAbility to read, write, speak, and understand English.\nExperience credit will be considered for related advanced degrees, limited to 2 years for a master’s degree and 4 years for a PhD in fields applicable to the position.\nPreferred Qualifications\nAdvanced degree in Engineering or a related curriculum.\nPrevious experience in an experimental test laboratory or aerospace test environment involving mechanical, structural, materials, and/or environmental testing.\nExperience with MTS and/or MOOG test and control systems, including servo-hydraulic or electromechanical test equipment.\nExperience with environmental test equipment and RTCA DO-160 test methods and requirements.\nFamiliarity with industry standards related to calibration.\nExperience with LabVIEW, Python, MATLAB, or similar PC-based programming languages, including incorporation with data acquisition.\nExperience with serial communication protocols such as Modbus.\nExperience with industrial controls, process and instrumentation drawings, programmable logic controller (PLC) programming, electronic circuits, software integration, and electrical hardware.\nAbility to develop, interpret, and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and control-system drawings and schematics.\nExperience developing, modifying, qualifying, or integrating custom transducers, instrumentation, controls, data acquisition systems, and specialized test equipment.\nExperience with instrumentation and measurement systems, including strain gauges, load cells, displacement transducers, pressure transducers, accelerometers, thermocouples, and signal conditioning.\nExperience with equipment qualification or familiarization, test fixture design, load paths, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, PLC-based controls, and
