This position offers a unique opportunity to train directly alongside a senior technical specialist with decades of experience in embedded systems, avionics, product development, manufacturing support, and technology lifecycle management.\nThe selected candidate will develop expertise in electronic hardware design, embedded systems, product qualification, supplier management, obsolescence mitigation, and aircraft certification activities while supporting both next-generation product development and in-service fleet sustainment.\nKey Responsibilities\nHardware Development\nDesign, test, and qualify electronic hardware for cabin management systems.\nSupport hardware architecture, schematics, component selection, and PCB development.\nCreate and execute validation, verification, and environmental test plans.\nAuthor engineering documentation (requirements, test procedures, qualification reports).\nObsolescence & Lifecycle Management\nMonitor component availability and identify End-of-Life (EOL) risks.\nCreate mitigation plans (alternate parts, redesigns, lifetime buys, tech refreshes).\nPartner with Supply Chain, Manufacturing, and Suppliers to resolve lifecycle issues.\nSustainment & Collaboration\nInvestigate field issues, perform root-cause analysis, and recommend product improvements.\nInterface with hardware suppliers, design partners, and certification bodies.\nPresent technical findings and project status to engineering leadership.\nQualifications\nRequired\nEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related discipline.\nExperience: 2-7 years in hardware development, embedded systems, avionics, aerospace, or electronics.\nSkills: Circuit design, digital/analog electronics, schematic reading, or technical troubleshooting.\n Preferred\nExperience with microcontroller-based designs, PCB design, and hardware validation.\nKnowledge of lifecycle management, electronic component obsolescence, and qualification testing (HALT/HASS).\nFamiliarity with FAA certification environments, configuration management, and C/C++.\nEducation and Experience Requirements\nBachelor's Degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. 5 ys in specific technical discipline or 10 yrs broad eng experience in several technical disciplines.
