Gunnebo Entrance Control is small enough to see your ideas come to fruition, and big enough to realise your career goals.\nRole Overview\nThe Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for the design, development and customisation of electrical systems for new and existing products, working closely with Mechanical, Electronics and Firmware engineering teams.\nThe role covers the complete engineering lifecycle, from initial design and component selection through prototyping, validation, documentation and production release, with a strong focus on practical design, product cost and manufacturability.\nRequirements\nDesign and develop electrical systems for new products, product upgrades and customised solutions.\nDevelop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, cable assemblies and wiring looms.\nPrepare manufacturing drawings and maintain related electrical Bills of Materials (BoMs).\nIdentify, select and validate critical electrical components including power supplies, motors, drivers, actuators, sensors and protection devices.\nSupport prototype assembly, wiring, testing and validation.\nWork closely with Mechanical, Electronics and Firmware teams to ensure effective system integration.\nSupport improvement and optimisation of existing products and components.\nEvaluate alternative design solutions to optimise product cost, performance and manufacturability.\nPrepare and maintain electrical product documentation, including cable drawings, wiring diagrams and technical instructions.\nSupport Operations and Service teams with technical guidance and product knowledge.\nSupport assigned designs through the complete development process up to production release.\nRequirements\nBachelor’s degree or technical qualification in Electrical, Mechatronics, Electronics Engineering or a related discipline.\n3-6 years of relevant experience in electrical design and product development within an industrial/product engineering environment.\nGood proficiency in 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks.\nKnowledge of SolidWorks Electrical Schematics.\nExperience with electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, cable drawings and wiring-loom design.\nExperience defining and maintaining electrical Bills of Materials (BoMs).\nKnowledge of automation devices including motors, drivers, actuators and sensors.\nGood hands-on skills with the ability to support or directly wire prototypes.\nAbility to identify and validate critical electrical components such as power supplies, sensors and protection devices.\nAbility to evaluate alternative design solutions against product cost, performance and manufacturability targets.\nKnowledge of product certification processes and applicable standards would be advantageous.\nStructured and organised approach with the ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.\nComfortable working in an international environment and with virtual teams.\nAble to manage changing priorities, project requirements and deadlines.\nAbout us\nThe Gunnebo Group is a global leader in security, offering innovative products and services to protect and control the flow of people, and to safely secure valuables.
