We are looking for a Purchasing Assistant to join our team in Kolkata. This is an urgent hiring opportunity for female candidates, and we are looking to identify a suitable candidate by the end of this week.

This role is specifically suitable for fresh graduates and candidates starting their first professional job. You do not need previous experience in purchasing, procurement, logistics, quality control, or the leather industry.

You will have the opportunity to learn on the job, work with suppliers and internal teams, gain experience in purchasing and quality control, and travel to different locations across India as part of your role.
The position offers a hybrid working setup, and all business travel expenses and required hotel accommodation are covered by the company.

Good communication and interpersonal skills
Basic knowledge of MS Excel
Good organisational and coordination skills

Key Responsibilities
Support day-to-day purchasing and procurement activities
Coordinate with suppliers, vendors, and internal teams regarding orders and requirements
Assist with supplier communication, follow-ups, and order coordination
Maintain and update purchasing, supplier, and order-related information in MS Excel
Support the team with quality control and quality inspection activities when required
Coordinate with leather tanneries, suppliers, and production locations
Assist in identifying and reporting quality issues, product discrepancies, or supplier-related concerns
Follow up with suppliers to ensure orders, quality requirements, and deadlines are met
Support documentation and administrative tasks related to purchasing, procurement, and supplier management
Travel to different locations across India for supplier visits, quality inspections, and business-related activities
Work closely with the team to maintain smooth purchasing and supply chain operations
Learn and develop practical knowledge of purchasing, procurement, supplier management, quality control, and the leather industry
