Who We Are

Gusto 501 brings an authentic, community-driven culinary experience to Toronto’s east end. In partnership with award-winning architecture and design firm, Partisans, Gusto 54 Restaurant Group has transformed the once-auto body shop at 501 King St. East into an architecturally significant addition to Toronto’s Corktown neighbourhood, punctuated by a floor-to-ceiling glass façade, and reclaimed terracotta accents.

The Role

·Promotes Guest Satisfaction by ensuring all food is executed to standard

·Meets food cost target through maintaining inventory and ordering systems

·Supports Chef de Cuisine in menu development

·Trains all cooks on the proper and consistent execution of all dishes

·Maintaining a spotlessly clean kitchen and back of house

·Adhering to all food handling and health & safety procedures

·Maintenance of equipment and building, scheduling repairs as needed

·Review and evaluate vendor/supplier pricing on a regular basis

·Implement plans and corrective actions to address any inventory variances

·Manage labour cost through scheduling and cutting of employees

·Conducting Line Checks and Pre-shift meetings prior to service

·Fostering an atmosphere of respectful communication, cooperation and positivity among all staff

Preference will be given to candidates with:

·3 years Senior Cook or 1 year Sous Chef prior experience

·Solid technical culinary foundation

·Strong leadership and communication skills

·Valid Food Handlers Certification

·Valid WHMIS Certification

·Valid First Aid Certification
