Provides general support to both clinical and non-clinical. Demonstrates appropriate population specific communication skills.\nEssential Functions:\nActively participates maintaining a safe environment. \nRecognizes, troubleshoots and initiates corrective action needed on equipment. \nFollows hospital and nursing department policies and procedures regarding the care and use of equipment and supplies.\nComplies with all policies of the hospital and nursing department.\nUtilizes proper body mechanics to prevent injury to self or patients.\nDemonstrates organizational and time management skills.\nCompletes work within a timely manner according to department guidelines.\nMaintains neat and clean work area.\nOrders and maintains clerical supplies as necessary.\nOrders necessary unit equipment and supplies.\nPerforms errands in a timely manner. \nDemonstrates strong communication and organizational skills.\nAbility to communicate using telephones, intercom, computer systems.\nAnswers telephone promptly and politely, identifying self, title, and department.\nReceives and sends messages in an accurate and timely fashion.\nCommunicates with the patients, family, and members of the health care team in a concise, tactful and considerate manner. \nMust represent the hospital in a professional courteous manner while being sensitive to how others perceive both verbal and non verbal communications.\nImplements Downtime process and procedures including order interpretation and transcription as necessary.\nNotifies RN of any stat order.\nRegisters patients, assembles and disassembles charts in a timely manner, performs other clerical work according to unit guidelines.\n\nOther Duties:\nAssists in the orientation of new employees.\nAttends and participates in unit council and unit clerk meetings (70% attendance).\nDemonstrates awareness of need for self-growth by assessing strengths and weaknesses and establishing written goals.\nDemonstrates willingness to accept non-routine work assignments as appropriate.\nEncouraged to participate in community activities. \nIs authorized to access secured storage areas in the performance of essential job functions and duties.\nFollows hospital and nursing department policies and procedures during emergency or stressful situations including fire and disaster drills, and emergency situations.\nSeeks supervision and guidance when appropriate.\nSupports the philosophy of the hospital and of the department of nursing.\nPay Rate ranges from $17.34 -
