The main customer-facing team provides technical support and guidance throughout the customer lifecycle, enabling users to access and effectively utilize the PAAS offerings and capabilities.\nGXM is seeking a qualified mid-level ServiceNow Developer to support the transition, implementation, and ongoing enhancement of an enterprise ServiceNow environment in support of a mission-critical IT program. The developer will contribute to the successful transition to ServiceNow, support platform configuration and integration activities, and provide recurring development and sustainment support following initial implementation and operational handover.\nThe successful candidate will independently execute assigned development tasks, translate business and technical requirements into scalable platform solutions, and collaborate with program stakeholders, system administrators, process owners, and technical teams to ensure the platform meets operational needs. Responsibilities include developing and maintaining ServiceNow applications, workflows, integrations, automation, and platform configurations in accordance with approved architecture, security requirements, and development best practices.\nWorkload is expected to be higher during the initial transition, implementation, and stabilization periods. Following transition, the role is expected to operate on a part-time basis, providing recurring platform maintenance, enhancements, defect remediation, and continuous improvement in accordance with an established schedule and prioritized backlog.\nKey Responsibilities\nServiceNow Transition and Implementation\nSupport planning and execution of the transition to the ServiceNow platform, including requirements validation, configuration review, and technical implementation activities.\nAssist with the assessment and documentation of existing processes, workflows, integrations, and operational requirements.\nDevelop, configure, and validate ServiceNow capabilities in accordance with approved requirements and the program's implementation approach.\nSupport integration testing, user acceptance testing, cutover activities, operational handover, and post-transition stabilization, as applicable.\nIdentify implementation risks, technical dependencies, configuration gaps, and opportunities to improve platform functionality.\nApplication Development and Platform Configuration\nDevelop, customize, and maintain ServiceNow applications, modules, workflows, and scoped applications.\nConfigure platform components, including business rules, client scripts, UI policies, access control lists (ACLs), Script Includes, and system properties.\nDevelop and maintain Flow Designer workflows, automated tasks, and reusable application components.\nApply ServiceNow development best practices to support maintainability, scalability, performance, and upgrade compatibility.\nIntegration and Automation\nDesign, implement, test, and maintain integrations between ServiceNow and other enterprise systems using APIs, and applicable integration capabilities.\nTroubleshoot integration failures, data synchronization issues, authentication problems, and related platform dependencies.\nDevelop automation and workflow improvements that reduce manual effort, improve service delivery, and support operational efficiency.\nRecurring Sustainment and Continuous Improvement\nProvide scheduled, part-time development and sustainment support following the initial transition and stabilization period.\nReview and refine platform functionality, workflows, configurations, and integrations on a recurring basis.\nEvaluate enhancement requests, prioritize technical work with stakeholders, and implement approved changes through established change-control processes.\nAddress defects, technical debt, performance issues, and configuration inconsistencies.\nSupport platform releases, upgrades, regression testing, and compatibility validation as required by the contract and platform operating model.\nMaintain a prioritized development backlog and recommend improvements aligned with operational needs and program objectives.\nTesting, Security, and Quality Assurance\nDevelop and execute unit, integration, regression, and other appropriate testing activities.\nValidate changes before deployment to minimize operational disruption and prevent unintended impacts to existing functionality.\nFollow applicable security requirements, least-privilege principles, secure coding practices, and organizational configuration-management standards.\nSupport vulnerability remediation, security-related configuration updates, and audit or compliance activities within the scope of the role.\nDocumentation and Knowledge Transfer\nDevelop and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, configuration records, integration documentation, workflow diagrams, and operational procedures.\nDocument platform changes, dependencies, testing results, and deployment procedures.\nSupport knowledge transfer to designated administrators, developers, and operational personnel to promote maintainability and continuity.\nStakeholder Collaboration and Technical Support\nWork with stakeholders, project managers, process owners, administrators, and technical teams to translate requirements into effective platform solutions.\nCommunicate development progress, technical risks, dependencies, and recommendations.\nProvide technical guidance and troubleshooting assistance to administrators and authorized users as needed.\nRequirements\nU.S. Citizenship.\nHigh school diploma or GED required.\nMust hold an active Secret security clearance or be eligible to obtain one, subject to program requirements. Candidates will be fingerprinted and processed on their first day via in-person onboarding.\nBachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Software Engineering, or a related field preferred. Equivalent relevant experience in lieu of degree may be considered where permitted by contract and applicable qualification requirements.\n3-5 years of relevant professional experience in ServiceNow development, configuration, integration, or enterprise platform engineering.\nDemonstrated hands-on experience developing and maintaining enterprise ServiceNow applications and workflows.\nExperience translating business and operational requirements into technical solutions with limited day-to-day supervision.\nExperience supporting platform implementations, transitions, integrations, or significant enhancements.\nExperience troubleshooting complex application, workflow, and integration issues.\nCompTIA Security+ CE required if mandated by applicable contract, customer, or security requirements; otherwise preferred.\nThe candidate must meet applicable DoD 8140/DCWF qualification requirements established by the responsible customer or workforce authority.
