Here at GXO, we're looking for an Automation Maintenance Engineering Assistant to join our engineering team supporting a leading fashion retailer inCrick. This is an exciting opportunity to work with advanced warehouse automation technology while developing your engineering skills in a fast-paced and innovative environment. You'll play a key role in supporting preventative and corrective maintenance activities, helping to maximise equipment performance, minimise downtime, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across site. This is a full time, permanent position working in Panama Day Shifts 07:00 to 19:00

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £37,000.00 per annum, and 24 days annual leave (including bank holidays). What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Support preventative and corrective maintenance activities across automated warehouse equipment
• Assist with fault finding, root cause analysis, and timely resolution of automation breakdowns
• Complete maintenance records, technical audits, and performance reporting accurately
• Promote high standards of safety, housekeeping, and engineering compliance
• Contribute ideas and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• A qualification in electrical or mechanical engineering City & Guilds/NVQ L1 and working towards L2
• An interest in automation technology, engineering systems, and technical problem-solving
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build positive working relationships
• The ability to work effectively in a fast-moving operational environment
• A proactive attitude, strong attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and develop
