(GZA) is seeking an Entry Level Site-Civil Engineer to join our Civil Engineering Team in our Syracuse, New York office. The successful candidate should have a strong academic record, solid understanding of civil engineering fundamentals, and a desire to work on a variety of exciting and challenging projects both in the office and in the field. Assignments will likely be focused on site design and stormwater management components of energy projects but will also span a variety of traditional site development and natural resources-based projects. Previous work experience is preferred but not required. Strong work ethic and communication skills are highly valued. GZA emphasizes a One Company environment, and as a member of our team, you may be asked to assist on projects and tasks outside of your primary responsibilities.\nAs an Entry Level Site-Civil Engineer, you will work on a variety of project components such as: site planning, layout, grading, site design development, hydraulic and hydrologic modeling of small and large watersheds, post-construction (permanent) stormwater management design, stream bank restoration, and climate change adaptation and resilience. You will work with a team of dedicated civil engineering professionals on the technical execution of projects and will collaborate with the overall interdisciplinary team. GZA provides opportunities to advance your career through delivering high-quality services to our diverse internal and external client pool.\nKey Duties:\nDevelop site-civil engineering design work - site features and layout, grading, utilities, erosion and sediment controls, stormwater management design, etc.\nConduct civil and hydrologic/hydraulic engineering technical analyses/calculations for review by senior staff.\nPrepare Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs) and stormwater drainage reports for review by senior staff.\nAssist in the preparation of construction and bid documents including drawings, specifications, and construction cost estimates.\nPerform field tasks including site reconnaissance, SWPPP inspections, and construction observation.\nQualifications:\nBachelor or Master of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Water Resources Engineering or related field of practice required.\nEIT certification or ability to obtain within one year. Desire to obtain Professional Engineer license.\nEffective communication, problem solving and organizational skills.\nStrong attention to detail with excellent analytical capabilities.\nAbility to work independently and in team settings.\nAbility to read and understand design drawings and relate them to construction activities.\nAbility to work locally and regionally, including infrequently for overnight stays. Candidate must possess a valid driver’s license in good standing.\nStrong computer skills including a solid foundation in MS Office applications.\nExperience using AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, and/or HydroCAD preferred.\nOne to three years of relevant experience is preferred.\nOSHA 10-hour Construction training is a plus.\nThe base salary for this position may range between $66,500 and $85,400.
