The ideal candidate for this position is a seasoned environmental consulting professional with the motivation and desire to foster technical excellence and strong client relationships. \nAs an Environmental Project Manager, you will work with a staff of interrelated professionals dedicated to providing high-level expertise on complex projects above, below and at ground-level. You will successfully execute all aspects of projects under the guidance of a company Principal. You will also represent GZA with the client throughout proposal, contract, and project performance phases, be responsible for day-to-day execution of technical and financial aspects of each project, be involved with marketing activities and networking events, and mentor and train junior staff. Our Project Managers have ownership opportunities with the firm, participate in profit sharing, and have the potential for advancement to principal levels.\nWhat You Will be Doing:\nManaging project team, delegating to office and field staff, and executing daily project activities\nManaging project contractual and financial issues (including terms of agreement, changes in scope, billing process)\nMentoring GZA existing staff of project-level scientists and engineers\nMonitoring team performance for compliance with contractual agreements and budgets\nConducting site compliance inspections\nPreparing proposals and reviewing/writing environmental reports with Principal guidance and review\nConducting/reviewing technical analyses/calculations\nParticipating in meetings and agency consultation\nConducting internal and client communications\nProviding business development support\nGZA emphasizes a One Company environment, and as a member of our team, you may be asked to assist on projects and tasks outside of your primary responsibilities \nWhat You Will Be Bringing:\nBachelor’s Degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering, Geological/Hydrogeology or Environmental Sciences (advanced degree is a plus)\nStrong knowledge of contaminants fate and transport and experience in conceptual site model development\nExperience at consulting engineering firms and knowledge of applicable laws and regulations in Michigan (experience in adjacent states is a plus)\nSelf-starter, able to complete tasks with minimal supervision and direction\nPossess the ability to maintain strong and consistent outreach to clients\nDemonstrate professional judgment, consistency, strong attention to detail, and background of high-quality work products\nDemonstrate performance of independent analysis, problem solving and strong organizational skills\nStrong understanding of field sampling and investigative protocols\nExperience conducting Phase Is, Phase IIs, feasibility study/corrective action evaluation and remediation oversight\nStrong oral and written communication skills\nExperience with statistical review of data\nExperience preparing reports that demonstrate technical knowledge\nStrong interest in safety\nPossess or have completed 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training and subsequent refresher training\nPE/PG or other professional registration strongly preferred\nWhat You Will Be Getting:\nFriendly and flexible work environment\nProfessional development and enrichment\nLeadership and technical training\nProfessional society involvement and sponsorship\nCommitment to technical excellence and client relationships\nCollaborative and cooperative work community\nAdvancement and ownership opportunities\nGenerous benefits package, including medical, dental, vision and 401K retirement plan\nThe base salary for this position may range between $100,000.00 to $120,000.00.
