Fuller's Aerospace Manufacturing Center of Excellence in Charlotte, NC, the company's primary manufacturing and packaging site for aerospace polysulfide sealants and premix-and-frozen (PMF) products serving commercial, defense, and space customers worldwide.\nReporting to the Plant Manager, the Facility Technical Manager is a senior engineering leader responsible for the site's technical, process engineering, quality, and laboratory functions. This role leads the Process Engineering and Quality & Laboratory teams and partners with Operations, R&D, and Regional Quality in a highly regulated aerospace environment.\nThis position will help launch the facility, including laboratory startup, product transfer, and qualification.Travel to other H.B. Fuller sites is required approximately one week per month for the first six months, after which the role will be fully based in Charlotte.\nKey Responsibilities\nTechnical & Site Startup Leadership\nLead the site technical department, including process engineering, quality, and laboratory staff, and build a strong technical bench.\nLead process, laboratory, and equipment readiness, method transfer, and qualification for production startup and transferred products.\nOversee testing and release of raw materials, intermediates, bulk, and finished products.\nPMF & Product Quality\nEstablish quality controls for PMF products, including freezer monitoring, temperature excursions, shelf life, and cold-chain shipping.\nEnsure lot traceability from raw materials through syringe, cartridge, kit, and finished goods.\nLead material disposition and nonconformance decisions, escalating to R&D or Regional Quality as needed.\nQuality Systems & Compliance\nLead the site ISO 9001, AS9100, and applicable Nadcap quality systems, including document and change control.\nLead internal, customer, and certification audits, and support product qualifications and customer approvals.\nMaintain quality records, specifications, batch tickets, and laboratory procedures.\nContinuous Improvement & Technical Leadership\nLead root cause investigations and corrective actions using 8D, SPC, FMEA, and related tools.\nTrack and reduce cost of poor quality, and report on key quality metrics.\nDirect process engineering efforts in scale-up, process validation, and capability improvement, and partner with R&D on new product introduction.\nServe as the primary product quality contact for customers, sales, and customer service.\nMinimum Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline required; Chemical Engineering strongly preferred.\n10+ years of engineering, technical, or quality experience in aerospace, chemical, adhesive, or sealant manufacturing.\n5+ years leading engineering, quality, or laboratory teams.\nExperience working within an AS9100 quality system in an aerospace or defense manufacturing environment.\nProven record leading process validation, root cause investigations, corrective actions, and customer or certification audits.\nAbility to travel approximately one week per month for the first six months.\nPreferred Qualifications\nMaster’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.\nExperience with aerospace sealants, polysulfide, epoxy, or two-component adhesive systems.\nExperience with pre-mixed & frozen syringe or cartridge filling, or temperature-controlled products.\nNadcap experience and new site startup or product transfer experience.\nProfessional Engineer (PE) license, ASQ CQE, or Six Sigma Black Belt.\nSAP experience.\nPay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, and geographic location.\nThe salary for this role is $110,000 - $145,000.In addition to your salary, H.B.
