H2M’s Mechanical Engineering team delivers innovative, high-performance HVAC design and consulting services across a wide range of building types and markets. Our engineers apply strong technical expertise from concept through construction to create efficient, reliable, and cost-effective mechanical systems that enhance building performance and occupant comfort. With experience spanning real estate, education, municipal, emergency services, industrial, pharmaceutical, and manufacturing projects, we provide solutions tailored to each client’s operational and environmental needs. \n\nAs a Project Mechanical Engineer, you will be working with architects, civil engineers, and environmental scientists to execute mechanical engineering design work for both public and private clients. You will also coordinate the efforts of both in-house and outside teams who handle equipment selection, layout design, and load calculations and specifications.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nProject supervision and coordination with other engineering and architecture departments within the firm.\nPreparation of construction drawings and specifications for public and private bidding.\nDirect communication and follow up with clients in support and coordination of all project related activities.\nTechnical leadership, production and scheduling, quality control and cost proposals.\nResponsible for the on-time, on budget and high quality technical delivery of all project requirements.\nManagement/Supervision of junior level staff.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nEducation & Qualifications \nMinimum 5 to 7 years of HVAC design experience, and at least 3 years of project management experience in a consulting firm or related environment.\nBachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.\nProfessional Engineer license preferred. \nExperience with local municipalities, government agencies a plus. \nMust have demonstrated technical leadership experience, overseeing a project and working with clients. \nAbility to mentor/supervise junior level staff.\nAbility to work independently and in a team environment. \nExcellent oral and written communication skills.\nThe salary for this role is $88,000 to $130,000 annually.\nThe employment offer may deviate from this published range based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to experience, specialty, knowledge, education, geography, and/or related certifications, not related to any applicant’s characteristics protected by local, state, or federal law.
