At H2M, our wastewater engineers work on projects covering all phases such as planning, feasibility studies, design, construction, and maintenance on a multitude of wastewater design projects. We understand that no two projects are the same and can pose unique challenges in their design construction, operation, and maintenance. Using cutting-edge solutions, detailed construction drawings, and comprehensive internal quality control practices, H2M delivers excellence of unique design both on time and on budget.\n\nKey Responsibilities\nIn this role, you will work within a project team to support wastewater infrastructure projects from initial project programming through construction with the support and guidance of seasoned professionals.\nPerform engineering work in various engineering fields focused on wastewater collection, conveyance, and treatment systems through schematic design, detailed design, and construction-phase design services.\nLead engineering evaluations, execute design calculations, and prepare reports, plans, and specifications with support of senior level engineering staff.\nConstruction administration and on-site resident support activities, including construction phase management activities, coordination of shop drawing reviews and RFI responses, and lead the development of construction change orders.\nLead administrative and project management related tasks for various engineering design projects, including management of subconsultants.\nInterface directly with clients and third-party construction managers and present engineering findings.\nSupport environmental studies, permitting and alternative analyses.\nCheck performance or conformity with plans and specifications through field inspection and testing.\nPerform field activities such as site investigations, witness testing, and milestone construction observation.\nResponsible for data collection, manipulation, analysis, and documentation, including but not limited engineering design reports, memos, and studies.\nSupervise, schedule, delegate, and manage the work of technical staff and junior engineers.\nWork virtually with employees in other offices around the country.\nAssist with business development pursuits writing technical proposals and assisting with budgeting.\nLead project pursuits of small and moderate size.\nEducation & Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering or related field of study required.\nMinimum of 5 years of professional work experience in the design and/or design services during construction of wastewater treatment plants, collection, and conveyance systems and alternative onsite treatment systems. Experience with construction administration and project management. Experience of designed systems is preferred.\nProfessional Engineer (P.E.) license required.\nCandidates must have strong verbal and written communication skills, organizational skills, and the ability to work well both independently and in team environment.\nExperience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, Teams, Outlook). Understanding of Autodesk Revit and Civil 3D software programs.\nExcellent client relations and technical writing skills.\nThe annual salary for this role is $85,000 to $120,000.\nThe employment offer may deviate from this published range based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, experience, specialty, knowledge, education, geography and/or related certifications – not related to any applicant’s characteristics protected by local, state or federal law.
