H2O is seeking Certified Grade 2/3 Water Treatment Plant Operators in Dulce, New Mexico to work at a local Water Treatment Plant. Hours are flexible and can be discussed in the interview process.\nTHE DAY-TO-DAY\nReporting to the Project Manager, the Water Plant Operator will be responsible for:\nOperate, monitor, and maintain various water supply and treatment systems, including reservoirs, pumping systems, chemical feed equipment, filtration units, and measurement and control systems.\nPerform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs on plant equipment and facilities to ensure efficient operations.\nMonitor water levels, collect operational data, and interpret readings to support treatment processes.\nSafely handle, load, unload, and manage treatment chemicals in accordance with established safety procedures.\nCollect water samples and perform basic to intermediate laboratory testing to monitor water quality and treatment effectiveness.\nPerform mathematical calculations related to chemical dosing, water flow rates, measurements, and treatment processes.\nMaintain accurate operational records, equipment readings, laboratory results, and maintenance documentation.\nAssist with general facility upkeep, including landscaping, vegetation control, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment.\nFollow all applicable safety regulations, company policies, and operational procedures, particularly those related to equipment operation and chemical handling.\nIdentify and report equipment malfunctions, operational concerns, and potential safety hazards to management.\nPerform additional duties as assigned to support plant operations and organizational objectives.\nSKILLS & ATTRIBUTES DESIRED\nProfessional:\nA minimum of Grade 2 in Water/Wastewater disciplines is required;\nExperience operating and maintaining Water and Wastewater Treatment Plants and related equipment is required;\nMust be flexible and demonstrate a dedication to the position and to the public services;\nComputer literate with ability to use Microsoft Word, and Excel;\nValid Driver’s License required;\nMust be able to perform on-call services on a rotational schedule;\nExcellent and professional oral and written communication skills;\nPhysical Aspects of Position (including but not limited to): \nWalking/standing/bending/reaching/pushing/pulling: Potential of 6-10 hr/day;\nComputer work: Potential of 1-4 hours/day;\nPhysical Effort: does not lift weights more than 50 lbs;\nEnvironmental Stress: busy atmosphere, working inside and outside.\nWork Environment:\nWork is performed indoors and outdoors in sometimes harsh weather conditions.\nPersonal:\nThe selected candidate will be recognized for his/her organizational skills, rigor and analytical skills.
