Hire great engineers, raise the technical bar, and build a culture where people take ownership, challenge ideas, and consistently deliver.\nArchitect for millions, not thousands: Design and scale high-performance backend systems using Node.js. Make architecture decisions that balance scalability, reliability, speed, and long-term maintainability.\nMake distributed systems work: Build and evolve microservices-based architectures. Solve complex challenges involving service communication, fault tolerance, consistency, and distributed system performance.\nBuild systems that react in real time: Own event-driven architectures using Kafka or similar messaging systems. Build reliable asynchronous workflows, efficient event-processing pipelines, and systems that remain resilient under heavy loads.\nSet the engineering bar: Drive technical excellence across system design, code quality, testing, and engineering practices. Review critical designs, challenge assumptions, and establish standards that help the team build better software.\nTurn product ideas into engineering reality: Work closely with product, design, and business teams to translate ambitious ideas into scalable technical solutions. Balance execution speed with engineering quality and help the team ship meaningful improvements consistently.\nOwn what happens after we ship: Take responsibility for system reliability, performance, availability, and observability. Identify bottlenecks before they become problems, optimise infrastructure, and ensure our systems perform when it matters most.\nMake shipping faster and smarter: Partner with DevOps and infrastructure teams to improve CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, deployments, and developer productivity. Build an engineering environment where shipping reliable software becomes easier every day.\n\nWHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:\n\nWe're looking for someone with 8+ years of backend engineering experience, including meaningful experience leading engineers, owning technical decisions, and building production systems at scale.\n\nYou should bring strong hands-on expertise in Node.js, a deep understanding of microservices and distributed systems, and experience building event-driven architectures using Kafka or similar technologies.\n\nYou'll be comfortable working with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure, along with modern infrastructure technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.\n\nBeyond the technology, we're looking for someone who understands system design, scalability, performance optimisation, and reliability.
