This role focuses on developing software interfaces for industrial machinery that mills, welds, forms and more.\nThe Autonomous Factory Systems team builds the software that gives Hadrian’s factories the ability to sense, decide, and act autonomously. This includes the core robotics stack, orchestration between robots and manufacturing machines, and the hardware abstraction layer that connects our software to the machines on the floor.\nAs part of this team, you will partner with robotics, mechanical, and controls engineers to bring advanced production systems from concept to operation. You will help execute our roadmap to scale Hadrian into a multi-factory company across the US.\nWhat You’ll Do\nDevelop software to interface with industrial machines, PLCs, and other manufacturing equipment.\n\nCreate human-machine interfaces that enable technicians to control and monitor automation on industrial machines.\n\nEnsure seamless software integration of automated manufacturing systems into Hadrian factories.\n\nBuild data logging pipelines for connected devices that feed operational planning and factory scheduling.\n\nCollaborate with robotics, engineering, and operations teams to conceptualize, deploy, and upgrade manufacturing cells.\n\nWhat We’re Looking For\nA minimum of 4-6 years of software engineering experience\n\nProficient in Python, TypeScript, or C#.\n\nStrong ability and desire to work directly with hardware on the factory floor.\n\nDemonstrated ability to make decisions with incomplete information and deliver complex systems on schedule.\n\nFlexibility to travel up to 10% of the year as Hadrian scales across the country.\n\nWhat Will Set You Apart\nExperience developing software to interface with physical systems in a field such as manufacturing, industrial automation, or 3D printing.\n\nFamiliarity with industrial communication protocols (e.g., OPC UA, Profinet).\n\nHands-on experience with one or more of the following:\nelectronics or embedded systems\n\nlow-level networking, TCP/IP, and socket programming\n\nbuilding systems for real-time, safety-critical, or hardware-integrated environments\n\nhardware-in-the-loop testing or simulation systems\n\nCompensation\nFor this role, the target salary range is $200,000 - $230,000 (actual range may vary based on experience).\nThis is the lowest to highest salary we reasonably and in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting.
