We are looking for a Middle+/Senior Software Engineer with strong Python experience and a generalist mindset to help build the core systems behind our runtime and orchestration.\n\nThe role combines Python engineering, compiler infrastructure, systems programming, and scientific computing.\n\nPrevious quantum computing experience is not required.\n\nWhat You’ll Work On\n\nDesign a Python framework for quantum computing.\n\nDeveloping compiler-style IRs, transformations, and JIT/AOT/native compilation.\n\nExploring ways to lower higher-level programs toward efficient native execution.\n\nIntegrating new hardware and execution providers.\n\nBuild runtime system for quantum program executions\n\nOwning features end-to-end — from core library changes to backend APIs, database changes, and production integration.\n\nTurning research prototypes into reliable production software.\n\nRefactoring and improving the architecture of a large Python codebase.\nWhat We’re Looking For\n\nStrong Python plus systems-level programming experience, ideally C++ or Rust.\n\nStrong software architecture and engineering fundamentals.\n\nComfortable making backend/API and database changes when needed.\n\nDeep understanding of compilers, runtimes, programming languages, or execution engines.\n\nExperience with LLVM, MLIR, JIT/AOT compilation, IR design, ASTs, type systems, or code generation.\nWe are looking for a strong software engineer who can work deeply on compiler and systems problems while also being comfortable going across the stack when that is what it takes to deliver a feature.\n\nNice to Have\n\nScientific or numerical computing.\n\nCUDA or GPU programming.\n\nMachine learning.\n\nDistributed systems.\n\nQuantum computing or Qiskit.\n\nInterest in learning quantum computing.\nWho Would Be a Good Fit\n\nThis role is particularly suitable for a strong Python engineer who also enjoys compiler, runtime, or lower-level systems work.\n\nYou do not need to be a quantum computing expert.
