The Senior Data Scientist works closely with Product Owners, Data Engineers and Machine Learning Engineers to translate business problems into production-ready data products, ensuring solutions are robust, scalable and compliant with Haleon’s Responsible AI standards.\nThis is an opportunity for a technically strong, commercially minded Data Scientist who enjoys working at the intersection of science, operations and innovation, and who wants to deepen their impact in a complex, global enterprise environment.\nThe role is part of the Data Science team in the Data & AI Office and will report to the Principal Data Science Lead. The job holder will be based in Bangalore.\nKey responsibilities\nData Science Delivery:\nLead the design, development and application of advanced data science and machine-learning models. \nLead the development and evolution of models within specific business domains. \nTranslate complex business and operational problems into well-structured analytical approaches, selecting appropriate modelling techniques and success measures. \nPerform advanced exploratory data analysis to identify drivers, trends and improvement opportunities that inform solution design and business decisions. \nPrepare, transform and validate large and complex datasets, partnering closely with Data Engineers to ensure data readiness and quality. \nModel Performance & Operationalisation:\nDefine, implement and interpret robust model performance metrics, ensuring solutions are accurate, stable and fit for purpose. \nWork with Machine Learning Engineers to ensure models are deployable, monitored and maintainable in production environments. \nSupport the full model lifecycle, including testing, validation, documentation and continuous improvement. \nContribute to building scalable data science pipelines and production-ready software components. \nInnovation & Applied Experimentation:\nExplore and prototype new approaches, ensuring learning is captured and viable solutions progress to scaled delivery. \nApply emerging Data Science and AI techniques pragmatically, in line with Haleon’s standards, governance and enterprise priorities. \nCollaboration & Ways of Working:\nWork closely with Product Owners and cross-functional delivery teams to co-create effective AIML products. \nContribute actively to agile delivery, including sprint planning, design reviews and documentation of models and analytical outcomes. \nEnable reuse by contributing to shared Data Science assets, patterns and accelerators. \nContribute to development of reusable AI foundations and assets (e.g. forecasting, optimisation, segmentation, attribution, experimentation frameworks). \nGovernance, Quality & Responsible AI:\nEnsure all Data Science work adheres to agreed standards for coding, experimentation, data governance, security and Responsible AI. \nParticipate in code reviews and enforce high standards of code quality, documentation and reproducibility. \nActively contribute to building a culture of Responsible AI, strong governance, and ethical AI practices. \nPeople & Capability Development:\nProvide technical guidance, mentorship and coaching to Data Scientists and junior team members. \nSupport the development of Data Science capability across the team through knowledge sharing and collaboration. \nContribute to a culture of ownership, quality, learning and ethical AI use. \nTeamwork:\nContribute to a highly collaborative team culture with openness, ownership, and accountability. \nWork closely with key business stakeholders to align analytical solutions to business objectives. \nDomain & Platform Expertise\nYou will bring:\nStrong experience in machine learning, time-series modelling and optimisation ;techniques. \nProficiency in Python and SQL for data science and analytics. \nExperience working with modern Data Science and ML frameworks (e.g. scikit-learn, PyMC, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Databricks ML). \nPractical knowledge of ML at scale, including working in cloud and big-data environments. \nExperience in applying software engineering practices including version control, modular design, automated testing, CI/CD and peer review. \nQualifications and skills\nMSc, Engineering or PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Statistics or a related discipline. \n6+ years’ industry experience developing machine-learning models and analytical solutions. \nStrong foundation in statistical modelling, probabilistic methods and linear algebra. \nExperience with advanced time-series forecasting (e.g. ARIMA, ETS, Prophet), causal inference or optimisation techniques. \nStrong understanding of machine learning algorithms (e.g. Regression, Segmentation, Bagging, Boosting techniques, LSTM, Markov Chain models etc) \nExperience with intervention analysis, counterfactual estimation, and scenario simulation. \nGood to have exposure to Large Language Models (LLMs) and agentic AI approaches, including their practical application in enterprise use cases. \nProven ability to work independently while collaborating effectively in cross-functional teams. \nStrong communication skills, with the ability to explain analytical outcomes to non-technical audiences. \nStrong attention to detail and critical thinking skills. \nJob Posting End Date\n2026-10-26Equal Opportunities\nHaleon are committed to mobilising our purpose in a way that represents the diverse consumers and communities who rely on our brands every day.
