This role is primarily focused on Linux platforms, with responsibility for supporting Windows Server platforms and related technologies where required. \nWorking within an Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and DevOps delivery model, the successful candidate will leverage technologies such as Ansible and Terraform to develop scalable, secure, and consistent platform solutions. The role requires strong Linux engineering expertise, automation skills, and a passion for continuous improvement.\nThis is a platform engineering and consultancy role rather than a traditional operations position. The focus is on engineering, automation, and continuous improvement of server platforms, while providing technical guidance to application, cloud, and infrastructure teams.\nKey Responsibilities\nEngineer, automate, and continuously improve enterprise Linux and Windows server platform capabilities.\nDefine and maintain operating system standards, engineering patterns, and best practices.\nDevelop and support Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and platform automation solutions using approved tooling.\nProvide technical consultancy and guidance to application, cloud, and infrastructure teams.\nEnsure server platforms align with security, compliance, and operational requirements.\nSupport the delivery of secure, reliable, and scalable platform services across cloud and edge environments.\nDrive platform standardisation and continuous improvement initiatives.\nQualifications and Skills\nEducation\nBachelor’s Degree: Preferably in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (of equivalent experience).\nProfessional Experience\n8+ years' experience administering and engineering enterprise server platforms, with a primary focus on Linux operating systems and exposure to Windows Server environments.\nExperience supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Oracle Linux, Ubuntu, and Windows Server operating systems in enterprise environments.\nExperience building, maintaining, and supporting Linux and Windows Server gold images and standard server templates.\nExperience implementing CIS Benchmarks and operating system security hardening controls.\nExperience developing and supporting automation solutions using Ansible, Terraform, Packer, Python, Shell scripting, and/or PowerShell.\nExperience working with CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code methodologies.\nExperience engineering and supporting Linux and Windows Server workloads within Microsoft Azure environments.\nExperience with operating system lifecycle management, including patching, upgrades, software repositories, and image maintenance.\nExperience with Red Hat Satellite or equivalent enterprise operating system management solutions is desirable.\nEssential Skills\nStrong administration and engineering knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Oracle Linux, and Ubuntu.\nGood working knowledge of Windows Server administration, operating system management, and associated technologies.\nKnowledge of enterprise server imaging, operating system deployment, and image lifecycle management.\nStrong automation skills using Ansible and IaC tools such as Terraform, Packer.\nProficiency in Python, Shell scripting, and/or PowerShell.\nKnowledge of Microsoft Azure infrastructure, cloud services, and hybrid environments.\nUnderstanding of Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and CI/CD principles.\nKnowledge of CIS Benchmarks and operating system security hardening standards.\nKnowledge of Red Hat Satellite, package lifecycle management, patch management, and software repository administration.\nUnderstanding of Active Directory, DNS, identity and access management, and enterprise authentication services.\nStrong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.\nStrong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across infrastructure, cloud, security, and application teams.\nJob Posting End Date\n2026-11-15Equal Opportunities\nHaleon are committed to mobilising our purpose in a way that represents the diverse consumers and communities who rely on our brands every day.
