These are tools used daily by engineers and scientists at the world’s largest energy companies and run as cloud-native SaaS platforms and as enterprise on-premises solutions.\nAbout the role\nThis is a full-time position for a Lead Frontend Software Engineer to take technical ownership of the frontend architecture of our engineering application. The ideal candidate has experience leading the development of high-performance, data-heavy software used for analytics, simulation, scientific or engineering workflows.\nYou will define the frontend architecture, establish engineering standards, and lead the continued evolution of a complex React and TypeScript application. The application is a complex engineering workspace, combining analytical workflows, large datasets, persistent user state, and interactive 2D/3D visualization.\nData visualization is an important part of the product, but the broader responsibility is to deliver a reliable, maintainable, and intuitive application for demanding technical users.\nYou will collaborate with domain experts, product managers, designers, backend engineers, and other developers to translate complex requirements into effective user experiences. The role combines hands-on software development with technical leadership, architectural decision-making, and long-term ownership of frontend quality and performance.\nQualifications\nStrong React and TypeScript skills \nPrevious experience leading the frontend architecture of a complex production application \nMust have built a complex frontend for analytics, simulation, scientific or other data-intensive platform \nStrong understanding of frontend architecture and scalable application design \nExperience using state management tools such as Zustand, TanStack Query, Redux or equivalent \nProven ability to optimize browser performance for large datasets, including asynchronous loading, render optimization, memory management and responsive interaction handling \nComfortable contributing to API design, integrating asynchronous backend services and occasionally working beyond the frontend \nStrong frontend testing, debugging, observability and production-troubleshooting practices \nAbility to make pragmatic architectural decisions, explain trade-offs and balance long-term maintainability with delivery needs \nExperience with technical charting or visualization technologies such as D3.js, Plotly, Three.js, WebGL or Canvas is a big advantage \nFamiliarity with scientific computing, CAD, GIS or other engineering disciplines is an advantage \nPersonal Attributes\nStrong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage key stakeholder relationships \nA structured, analytical and proactive approach to solving complex technical challenges \nTakes ownership and provides technical direction without requiring heavy supervision \nCustomer-focused, with an interest in understanding how technical and engineering users work \nBalances architectural quality, product needs and delivery constraints \nTeam player who enjoys collaboration, mentoring and knowledge sharing \nIndependent, curious and self-driven \nComfortable working in a fast-paced environment with evolving requirements \nProficient with AI-assisted development tools and able to evaluate, test and maintain AI-generated code \nInterested in exploring new technologies and learning unfamiliar engineering domains \nIdentifies with Halliburton’s core values: Safety, Trust, Collaboration, Integrity and Respect \nMinimum Qualifications: Minimum qualifications may be acquired through technical schools or equivalent related experience.
