We are searching for a skilled financial specialist to join our team to help process, track, and record payments in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner.\nThe Accounts Payable Clerk will have both a day-to-day and ongoing impact on financial transactions, keeping us on track, on time, and on good terms with our valued partners. This role is based in Orlando, Florida and supports our U.S. operations.\nReporting directly to the Director of Finance, this role will be responsible for:\nAssembling, reviewing, and verifying invoices and payment requests.\n\nPerforming three-way match; working with Purchasing and/or vendors to research and resolve any discrepancies.\n\nIdentify and resolve any unusual or questionable invoice items or prices.\n\nCoding invoices with appropriate general ledger account, cost center, etc.\n\nEnsuring all approvals are received in compliance with Delegation of Authority.\n\nEntering and/or uploading invoices into the ERP system.\n\nPreparing and processing electronic transfers and payments.\n\nReconciling vendor accounts to monthly statements.\n\nMaintenance of vendor files.\n\nCorresponding with vendors and responding to inquiries.\n\nSupporting the month end close process, including reconciling the subledger and monthly schedules due to parent company.\n\nPreparing and filing IRS Form 1099.\n\nProviding supporting documentation for audits.\n\nMaintaining confidentiality of organizational information.\n\nOther duties as assigned.\n\nABOUT THE CANDIDATE\nThe ideal candidate will bring a wealth of Accounts Payable experience and should possess:\nKnowledge of accounts payable and general accounting procedures.\n\nProficient in data entry and management.\n\nHigh level of organization, data storage, retrieval skills, and follow up.\n\nAttention to detail.\n\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.\n\nQuick to learn and willing to delve into the details to find issues.\n\nAbility to work with other teams to solve issues, building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.\n\nMinimum Qualifications\nAssociate’s degree in accounting or the equivalent 5+ years’ experience in accounts payable, preferably in a manufacturing environment\n\nKnowledge of Excel (Pivot tables and VLOOKUP) and other Microsoft Office applications.\n\nExperience with Microsoft Dynamics D365 a plus.\n\nABOUT THE COMPANY\nOcean Optics pioneered miniature spectrometers and delivers spectral solutions to researchers, OEMs, and industrial customers, also designs and builds industrial-grade photonics systems for material inspection, chemical identification, and quality assurance.\nAt Ocean We Measure What Matters, and our Mission is to design precise photonics systems to solve customer measurement challenges to make the world safer, cleaner, and healthier.
