This is where you can do your best work!\nJob Title: Corporate Cost Accounting Manager\nCompany: MicroSurgical Technology\nLocation: Redmond, WA\nDepartment: Accounting\nReports To: Chief Financial Officer (dotted line to Vice President of Operations)\nJob Summary\nThe Corporate Cost Accounting Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing enterprise-wide cost accounting, inventory valuation, and margin analysis across the organization. This role ensures accurate cost data, standardized costing methodologies, and compliance with accounting policies and internal controls. The position partners closely with operations, supply chain, FP&A, and corporate leadership to drive cost transparency, profitability analysis, and decision support.\nKey Responsibilities\nCost Accounting & Inventory Management\nOwn and govern corporate cost accounting policies, methodologies, and standard costing processes across business units and legal entities.\n\nOversee inventory valuation, reserves, and reconciliation, ensuring accuracy and GAAP compliance.\n\nLead variance analysis (purchase price, labor, overhead, usage) and provide actionable insights to management.\n\nEnsure consistent application of cost standards for materials, labor, and overhead across the organization.\n\nCoordinate and lead physical inventory and cycle count programs, as applicable, with operations.\n\nFinancial Reporting & Close\nManage cost-related components of the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process.\n\nPrepare and review cost and margin reporting.\n\nSupport external audits and internal audit requests related to inventory and cost accounting.\n\nSystems, Controls & Process Improvement\nMaintain and enhance cost accounting within ERP systems and related reporting tools.\n\nEstablish and monitor internal controls over inventory, cost of goods sold (COGS), and manufacturing costs.\n\nIdentify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.\n\nBusiness Partnership & Decision Support\nPartner with Operations, Supply Chain, and FP&A to support budgeting, forecasting, pricing, and margin improvement initiatives.\n\nProvide financial models and cost analysis to support strategic initiatives, new products, sourcing decisions, and capital investments.\n\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting.\n\n6-8+ years of progressive experience in cost accounting.\n\nStrong knowledge of accounting rules, standard costing, and variance analysis.\n\nExperience with ERP systems and advanced Excel/data analysis.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nCPA, CMA, or similar professional certification.\n\nExperience in a multi-entity or global corporate environment.\n\nBackground partnering with operations or supply chain teams.\n\nKey Competencies\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.\n\nAbility to translate complex cost data into executive-level insights.\n\nHigh attention to detail with strong process discipline.\n\nCollaborative leadership and communication skills.\n\nPay Range: $135,000 - $155,000 per year. Compensation is based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, education, certifications, internal equity, and market conditions.
