Based in Wolverhampton (West Midlands) on a hybrid pattern, you'll join our Engineering team and report to the Electronics Engineering Manager.\nWe're flexible on experience\nYou might currently work as a Test Engineer, Hardware Test Engineer, Test and Validation Engineer or Electronics Engineer. However you got here, we're open to your background. That includes the test equipment and automated test platforms you've used, the scripting and test automation languages you know, the communication protocols you've worked with, and the industry you come from. We're part of Halma plc, a FTSE 100 company with over 8,000 employees across 50+ subsidiaries worldwide.\nWhat you'll be doing\nDeveloping, putting in place and maintaining electronic test procedures and test equipment for new and existing products\nCarrying out design verification, validation, functional, environmental and reliability testing\nDiagnosing and repairing hardware faults at board and system level\nDesigning and commissioning automated and semi-automated test systems that improve quality and efficiency\nAnalysing test results and producing clear technical reports and recommendations\nSupporting new product introduction (NPI) and manufacturing transfer projects\nWorking with design engineers to make products easier to test and more reliable\nInvestigating failures using structured root cause analysis\nHelping production and quality teams resolve manufacturing and field-return issues\nKeeping test specifications and documentation up to date and compliant with industry and regulatory standards\nWhat you'll bring\nMust-have\nA degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in a related engineering discipline\n3+ years' experience in electronics test, validation or development\nA strong understanding of analogue and digital circuits\nHands-on experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies and signal generators\nProven fault-finding skills down to component and board level\nConfidence reading schematics and technical documentation\nThe ability to analyse data and write detailed technical reports\nAn understanding of EMC, safety and relevant compliance standards\nNice-to-have\nExperience with automated test systems and test software development, in any language or platform\nAn understanding of embedded firmware at bare-metal level\nExperience with spectrum analysers\nWhat we offer\n25 days' holiday plus bank holidays\nOption to work a 9-day fortnight (compressed hours)\nPension with employer contributions of up to 10.5%\nCompany bonus scheme\nAnnual Halma share vesting scheme\nLife assurance\nEyecare\nBike to work scheme\nAirport parking discounts\nLong service recognition\nInclusion and belonging\nAt Fortress, we don't just accept difference, we celebrate it.
