To support our ongoing growth, we are looking for you!\nESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nDevelop, document, and optimize manufacturing processes for precision optical lens fabrication and assembly\nDevelop, document, and optimize metrology processes for optical lens assemblies in production\nCollaborate with optical design engineers to ensure manufacturability of optical lenses and assemblies\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams on quality and long-term reliability\nLead key manufacturing improvements including sourcing equipment and setting up related processes and procedures\nProvide day-to-day support for the production floor, resolving build issues, updating work instructions, and improving yields\nInterface with optical component suppliers to optimize delivery of product. Qualify new and replacement components/suppliers through the definition and implementation of appropriate test setups\nCreate detailed manufacturing instructions, process validation records, and ensure adherence to precision manufacturing standards\nDevelop and implement new manufacturing technologies and automation appropriately to support business strategy\nDesign tools and fixtures to improve or streamline manufacturing process\nDevelop manufacturing processes for optical components utilizing existing equipment and technologies or suggesting new cost-efficient approach\nTroubleshoot and root cause failure analysis of equipment on the production floor\nDrive continuous improvement across the manufacturing base in terms of process efficiencies, yields, production rates, changeover efficiencies, and costs\nCreating and maintaining project documentation and communicating information at project status meetings\nApply lean manufacturing techniques to reduce process variability and ultimately drive down cost while improving yield\nCapital equipment review, planning and purchase to ensure long term center stability\nMaintain compliance with Quality related to medical device regulations and requirements\nOther duties as assigned\nQUALIFICATIONS\nMinimum Requirements\nBachelors Degree in Engineering Discipline\n5 + years of work as a manufacturing engineer\nExperience with machine, equipment and process design, development, and deployment into a production environment\nHands-on problem solver with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision\nExcellent time management skills and the ability to balance priorities while working under the pressure of demanding project schedules\nKnowledge of Lean manufacturing practices & principles\nExperience with Root Cause Analysis Techniques\nStrong analytical skills\nRead and interpret engineering drawings\nStrong written and oral communication skills across all levels of the organization\nFamiliarity with ISO standards and quality systems\nTrack record of managing productivity / cost savings programs and delivering on savings targets\nStrong collaboration, influence, and change management skills\nExperience defining and optimizing Bills of Materials and Routings\nBasic knowledge and experience in project management\nDesired Qualifications\nKnowledgeable in optical manufacturing techniques, including grinding and polishing methods\nHands on experience in aspheric optical shop\nExperience with optical metrology equipment such as Optical
